Of course, the best place to buy Dawn dolls is at a garage sale, or a flea market. The prices are low, but the quality may also be low.
For me, this approach has not worked. You may think that I'm just a very silly woman with too much time on her hands, but it's only partially true. I am pretty busy, what with learning computer programming and working, and I simply do not have the time to go to yard sales for six hours a day on my weekends. I have a life, thank you very much, and all of that shopping just tires me out. And it's so darn competitive, too! You really have to get there early to get the deals.
So for me, the harried Dawn collector, on-line shopping is both a blessing and a curse. I have found a few sites that are productive: Ebay (just type in "Ebay" in your browser if my link doesn't work) and Joedi Johnson's Dawn site.
The newest discovery, pulled off of the Dawn news list, is the Valley of the Dolls . Their prices are very reasonable and I suspect you will find reason to visit again and again!
The Honey Tree may be expensive, but what great graphics! Thanks for the disco ball and the dancing panorama, guys! (It's a link to them, too.)
D's dolls doesn't have pictures, but the site is organized nicely.
A new addition to my list is Funk and Junk. They may not always have Dawn dolls, but they do have a searchable database.
The newsgroup has found some new sites, too! Here are a few of the recently posted ones:
Denise Davidson's list
Julie Boyle's site
Got To Have It
Remember, it's not too hard to read a news list, and you can find out about this stuff the same day I do if you start reading it!
If you are interested in buying Dawn dolls from individuals, why not e-mail me or sign my guest book (you can access it on my front page). I get e-mail from people wanting to sell pretty regularly, and I would be happy to put you in touch with them!
Also, many of the collectors listed on my Dawn links page have little sale lists hidden away in their sites, so you should check them out too and see if they have what you're looking for. Remember, most Dawn collectors are *really nice* and may be interested in trading with you. We're not mercenaries, we collect Dawn because we love her.
Looks like it's time to see the links list!
