I also love my Ginny, which is making a beautiful comeback after all of these years. Gottschalk's now sells Ginny collecibles $45 to $50 now. (Amazing)...I still have my original Ginny doll. I'm an eBay employee, my regular account with eBay is diddums99, and I have become familiar with so many Dawn collectors just from eBay. I feel I know you all, by your User ID's of course, as someone lucky enough to save your allowance to buy an amazing, cool doll for $.75. Dawn dolls were my absolute favorite then and now I can call myself a collector and still play with them. I'm sad that another company hasn't taken the time to create a 6 1/2 inch wonder, with real eyelashes and better looking boyfrie ds. Can you imagine, Dawn shaking hands with Pierre from eBay!

I can remember going to buy glori at the local toy store and thinking how cute she was. All these years I thought I had Dawn when in fact I had glori with bangs. I LOVE your WebSite. You definitely are NOT weird. I received my first Dawn doll, Dancing Angie to be exact, when I was five, from my neighbor, Karin Herman. I STILL look EXACTLY like Angie! I'm thirty-two now. I think our love of Dawn makes us ageless, f r I don't look a day over eighteen! I have a question, which I've asked several Dawn experts. PLEASE help! Daphne, the Model Agency cutie-pie, may have had a rare prototype "sister". My former neighbor, LeeAnne [in a different town in later years] had one whom she INSISTED was named "Jennifer". For the millions of times I gazed at this doll, held her, and BEGGED for her [I was unsuccessful], I KNOW it WAS by Topper and NEVER saw one before or certainly since. And I've been seeking one for more than twenty EARS. She had dark red hair, almost burgundy. Her hair was shaped in two thick, corkscrew curls, like Cindy Brady. Each was fastened by a tiny mist-blue ribbon and she had fog blue eyes. She definitely was NOT Daphne, for Daphne's hair is secured on top. till, she is an incredible doll. I KNOW that there was no doll within Topper named Jennifer, but LeeAnne ALWAYS was soooooo adamant that this was her doll's name; it was on the box and everything. COULD this be a rare prototype? Or possibly one issued in urope or The Orient? I STILL paw through every box of treasures, EVERYWHERE, seeking out this doll, for she was truly precious. I KNOW she must have been a fluke, and she was just incredible. I figured, maybe if I asked enough people, SOMEONE will know wh I am describing. I've even drawn it for own Dawn dealer, but got no response. I would be happy to draw her for you, too. In any case, keep up your good work here. I think you're fascinating. I love Dawn ! Always have , always will . I dreamed of her so many nights , of her friends , and clothes . Like Maria Buckley , I couldn't understand how Barbie became so popular ( I mean, the " mod " faces were pretty , but the HORROR of " Malibu Barbie , then " Superstar Barbie " - ooh , it gives me chills ! ) . Plus , Barbie was too BIG ! Dawn was petite , and far more desirable to me . So I traded my Barbies to my sisters , in exchange for their now-abused Dawns , Jessica , Longlocks , and of course Glori ( how I had envied my younger sisters birthday gift - Glori should have been mine ! ) . Now , my precious little dolls were safe at last and we spent many happy years together . Until the late '80s , when my stepfather had an imspired moment of cr elity ( as opposed to his more usual dull-witted mean streak ) - he waited until I left for school that day , then took all of my dolls from my room , and literally " gave them away " . At least , that's what he told me ( for all I know , he sold them for beer money ) . My mother left him a few years later ( not nearly soon enough for me ) , and I was lucky enough to have one of my dolls returned to me ( it had been put away at a friend of the familys house , while we stayed with them after my real father assed away ) . I was so happy to see her again , I literally wept for joy . My hands were trembling as I took her back , and since then , we have been so happy together ! With the universe of Dawn once again in balance , we shall go forth , finding her ne outfits and making merry . All hail Dawn !!!

I just found my Dawn umbrella , sad to say in not mint condition, but its still ok, not that bad!!! I have 2 sisters so all my Dawns come in 3's they are sitting with the kiddles & rock flowers, having a groovy time together, There is a shortage of men th ugh(Only 5 men to about 30 Dawns) The men look tired. One is a blond, what was his name??? everyone else is Gary(that was his name right???), Where did all these shoes come from???? i think they have more than me & THATS amazing!!!!!

Love your site....I was born in 1965, HATED Barbies, so had many many Dawn's and her friends. Had probably almost all the clothes, dance runway, beauty parlor, etc..but alas, mother gave everything away to a neighbor's kid when I outgrew them. The only hing left is the pink and white beauty parlor. I miss Dawn desperatly! Lost many blondes in original blue and white halter dress at school. (Actually, the other girls would steal them!) Had all the boys too. I have two daughters now, who HATE Barbies Trying to find some Dawns that they can play with, plus some mintinbox type for me! I just ordered Joedi's book. I love these pages! I have tried to fight the call of Our Lady Dawn for a couple of years, while collecting various giant imposter fashion dolls. (I debox them all, customize, and make scenes.) But Dawn (and esp. Angie) keep calling, and so now I am submitting to my destiny, gathering Our Ladies of Infinite Beauty to my breast, as my wallet allows. I have just started, though, and cannot find many dolls or outfits I can afford. If anyone has Dawn dolls & fashions for sale, please let me know. I an fight no longer. P.S. Great page! For a long time I thought I was the only one who remembered Dawn dolls - I had a couple as a child, and whenever I mentioned them to anyone they were like: What?... I sent a msg to JJohnson about her book. i have a Dawn from childhood(w/partialy cut hair and partial leg "eaten"-not by me(don't know exactly what happened). i ho e to contact a doll restorer someday; i have read some on dolls and there are restorers out there, but i've wondered about reputations, i.e. hope they return doll(esp. if it is a seller). I have some clothes, like SMini, bride dress, little pinky negligee furry hat, gold/pink skirt,etc. These clothes are in so-soshape, considering the time that has passed. I was wondering if clothes can be restored somewhat(the gold/pink outfit has some gold missing, etc.) Anyway, I have no Email address now-please don't report me to the authorities-I do access Internet through my local comm. college library. How fun! I can't help wondering, as I sit here watching Gary escort Dawn down the Beauty Pageant runway sitting atop my t.v., how many other Dawn things I had as a child that I've long since forgotten. And yes, after all these years, the pageant still w rks! Her tiara even still retains the "jewels." The only things missing are the "MIss Dawn" banners that undoubtedly didn't survive due to the fact that they were made of paper and I was a creative 7 year old inclined to use them for other things (in ca e you were wondering, Barbie does NOT function on the pageant!). And then there is poor Gary who is destined to wear Up Up and Away for all eternity because my mother could not find a tux and this was the next best thing. I would still like to acquire hi tux, but the only one I've seen on ebay was out of my budget, and Titusville, FL ain't exactly the place to locate this stuff (if you happen to hear of any...). I've enjoyed your website very much and will definitely make it one of my Favorite Places, but now, alas, I must go -- cat just spilled my coffee all over the carpet. Jo Ann
