Born and raised in the bustling and beautiful city of Whitebridge, Flora was the daughter of an innkeeper and his wife, Chase and Persephone Mangone. She was raised with much love and affection, and her younger days were full of happiness. Since she was the only child, she would often spend her time in the dining area of the inn, where she loved to meet the various people traveling through. Flora's favorite past time was sitting by the fire with a traveler or two and listen to their stories. She was said to be a great listener, and any one felt comfortable talking to her. Perhaps it was because of this quailty, or her peaceful manner, that helped Flora to grow into a sort of peace-maker when arguments or fights broke out in the inn. She would calmly listen to the two parties plead their arguments, and with an open mind, help them compromise. It was during a time like this, when Flora was settling an argument, that she first learned of her ability to channel. A rough looking man, whom Flora was trying to talk to, got angry and revealed a knife, threatening to cut Flora with it. The next few moments of her life were a blur to her, but all she knows is that somehow she caused the knife to go flying out the man's hand. Within the next five minutes, there was a gentle woman's voice in her ear, and two firm but gentle hands on her shoulders guiding her out of the inn. Turns out that an Aes Sedai had been entering the inn when all this took place, and realized immediatley the ability to channel in Flora. So, after saying her goodbyes and mounting her horse (Xavier) the two rode off, and Flora's life as she knew it changed for ever.
She was brought to the White Tower, where she quickly became immersed in her studies. Her willingness to learn and her passion for channeling enabled her to quickly raise through the ranks of Novice, to Accepted, and at last, into Aes Sedai. For Flora, on becoming Aes Sedai, the choice was rather easy as to what Ajah. Due to her ability to listen to all sides, she chose to study in the Grey Ajah, where she would be able to apply her service to the need of others.
Since she is still rather young, Flora still spends a great deal of her time in the library, or talking to others in increase her knowledge. Seen usually in a light purple dress with a simple belt, her wavy, auburn hair tumbling down her back, and her piercing green eyes searching for someone to talk to, Flora always has an open ear and an open mind for anyone willing to talk.
