M'Hael d'Mael was born right here in Tar Valon, 47 years ago this very week. His father was a blacksmith, and his mother an Aes Sedai of the Green Ajah, though she died several years ago in a fall from her horse. His mother, Deanna, had great expectations for him, and named him "M'hael d'Mael", meaning "Leader of Hope" in the Old Tongue. She gave him one of the highest educations around, from a Brown Sister named Maritha al'Clorinth. He learned to speak the Old Tongue fluently at an age when most children are struggling with reading.
M'hael grew of age, and enlisted on the Tower Guard, where he soon became a captain in the Guard. When he was about 20, M'hael met his future wife, Candine Berinsha. They wed within a year, and now have 3 boys, Darnive, Marc, and Rohain. M'hael succesfully commanded his legion in the Guard for 15 years, and then became interested in the politics of Tar Valon, and ran for a spot in the City Coiuncil. He won, and within 10 years, he was appointed mayor of Tar Valon by the Amyrlin Seat, Colyntha Mashein. He has worked well those two years, and is regarded as one of the finest mayors Tar Valon has ever had.
M'hael is in his middle years now, but he hasn't let age get to him. He is a large man, taller than most of the citizens, with thick shoulders and arms from his time as a blacksmith's apprentice. He has long brown hair, and almost yellow eyes that make weak willed men and women shy away from his glances. He could dominate a room in rags, and does so sometimes, even opposing that Amyrlin Seat on some matters. All in All, M'hael will probably be Mayor of Tar Valon for a good 15 or 20 more years, and the city will be better off for it.
