Saimus Braud

Citizen of Tar Valon

"Saimus! Come home!"

"Coming ma!", the young teenage lad shouted through the woods. Brushing aside dark blonde locks of hair along with briars, Saimus bounds through the woods, inspired by the thought of his mother's homemade bread. The eldest son of a farmer and his wife, Saimus was a strong bundle of youthful exuberance. A quick smile and dirty blonde hair that dripped in his dark green eyes, Saimus had always been a source of affection from the ladies around his village.

Saimus was also known for his skills at causing trouble. Although quite young(16), he was a seasoned professional at finding trouble and placing his foot in the wrong place. None of that mattered at the moment, however. While stepping from the boundary of the forest he loved onto his father's land, he was tackled and thrown to the ground hard, his eyes sliding shut instinctively.

As he opened his eyes to see his assailant, a smile much like his own looked at him. A rough hand claps him on the back hard.

"I never thought I raised such a weakling!", his father laughed in delight, his sides shaking with mirth.

"You didn't Da, you're just too strong for a young lad like me!", Saimus laughed along with his father as his father offered a hand to help him up.

Taking the hand, the two of them walked back to the farmhouse, laughing and talking about the day. The talk continued as they sat down to dinner with Saimus' mum and younger sister Sela. After dinner the young Saimus disappears from the table, leaving the dishes for his family to clean and goes back to his room in the back of his farmhouse.

Shutting the door slowly behind him, Saimus reaches underneath his bed to grab his blanketroll and the few belongings he has packed for his trip. Tar Valon, he thought. "Its such a long way away", he says out loud, not paying attention. Clamps his mouth shut quickly and sets down to write a note to his parents slowly, telling them how much he cares for them.

Minutes turn to hours, and in the dead of the night, Saimus slips out of his room and down the hall. The note is left where they will find it, and Saimus slips out into the night.
