If you have a character with stats in the Dungeons & Dragons format, you can use these guidelines to transfer them into Knights of Legend format.  If you are unsure of how a particular skill, attribute or rating will be translated, just enter it as it would be in D&D and place an asterisk(*) after it.  I will attempt to translate it correctly.

1) Names, occupations, guilds and races will pretty much stay the same.  If Knights doesn't already have your characters guild or race, submit it anyway and I may add it.  You may want to email me (KnightsOfLegend@nospamhotmail.com remember to remove the 'no spam' before sending) a description.

2) Power Category: since D&D doesn't have this, simply pick one (Dark, Light, Nature, Wild) which best suits your character.  For general guidelines, go to the description of each category.

3) Level: PCs in Knights can only obtain a level of 15.  However, level 9 is considered extremely powerful.  To convert, divide your D&D characters level by 2.  If you are multiclassed, choose the class with the highest level.

4) Might: Strength x 3 and add your level.

5) Agility: Dexterity x 3 and add your level.

6) Wisdom: Intelligence x 2 + Wisdom + your level

7) Psyche: Wisdom x 2 + Charisma + your level

8) Constitution: Constitution x 3 + your level

9) Fighting: is the average of your Might and Agility

10) Dexterity: is the average of your Agility and Wisdom

11) Armor: this is the armor rating of your skin.  Humans, elves and dwarves have an Armor rating of 0.  Creatures such as Giants and Orcs may have between 2 and 5.   Golems may be as high as 20 or 30.

12) Damage Bonus (DB): this is 20% of your Might

13) Damage Points (DP): this is fairly equivalent to Hit Points.  However, except in the case of level 1 characters, DP is almost always greater than Constitution.   Very high level characters (ie 8 and up) may want to pad their HP a bit.

14) Spell Points (SP): this is the number of points you have each day to cast spells.   I don't believe D&D has anything equivalent so if your character is primarily a magic user, give them a high number (around 75-100).  If they are primarily a fighter class, it would be closer to 25.

15) Description: all physical characteristics like height, weight, age, hair color and eye color are the same.

16) Natural Abilities: these are abilities inborn to the characters race (such as Night Vision to a Dwarf or Infravision to an Elf.)  This also includes Fang, Claws, Tails, etc.

17) Skills: see the Skill list for a listing of all skills.  Again, if your character has a skill that doesn't seem to be covered in Knights, submit it with an asterisk(*) and I will attempt to add it.  Also, see the Skill levels for a description.

18) Spells: all spells come from the Great Net Book of Spells.  However, spell damages in Knights are always twice what is listed in D&D.  Casting times, area of effect, duration and range stay the same.

19) Advantages and Disadvantages: basic character traits or flaws which are specific to the character.  This would include any physical, mental or emotional assets/disabilities.  See the complete list of Advantages and Disadvantages.

20) Weapons and Items: Self explanatory.  Make sure to list any magic properties.   When computing damage, take the weapons plus x 2 and add it to the damage for a standard weapon of that type.

21) Background and Description: Be as descriptive here as possible but please try to keep it under about 75 words for each field.  Also, use correct spelling, grammar and punctuation.  Characters submitted without some description and/or background or those with many grammatical mistakes will probably not be added to the game.

Above all, if you can't quite figure out how to convert something and I didn't cover it in these guidelines, just wing it and I'll never know the difference.
