X-Men: The Magneto War (3/99) - At the Xavier Institute for Higher Learning, the X-Men must fend off a group of attacking Acolytes, led by Fabian Cortez. During the battle, Cortez (who can enhance the powers of other mutants) touches Marrow, causing her bones to grow uncontrollably. It is only Kitty's phasing ability that frees Marrow from her bone prison. Once defeated, the Acolytes discard Cortez as their leader and ask Professor X for sanctuary. He declines, hoping to secretly follow the Acolytes to Magneto.
