Uncanny X-Men #377 (2/00) - Half of the X-Men go to Egypt to try to unravel the mystery of the Twelve and to rescue some of their already captured comrades. Once there, they are attacked by an army of Skrulls. Caught off guard by Skrulls disguised as friends, the remaining members of the Twelve are captured one by one. The remainder of the team (Rogue, Gambit, Fiz, Marrow, Beast, and Colossus) are overwhelmed by the attacking Skrulls and the order to execute them is given. Below the sands, Apocalypse imprisons the mutants in 12 null-orbs which will be used to drain their powers and bring about a global change. The mystery is at last revealed...the Twelve are not gathered to destroy Apocalypse but rather to bring about a second Age of Apocalypse!
