X-Men #90 (7/99) - While Marrow remains unconscious in the Skrull medical pod, Gambit tries to fight off the attacking Skrulls so they do not disturb her healing process. Just when he is almost overwhelmed, Marrow emerges and drives back the enemies with a barrage of bone shards apparently shot from her body. Gambit looks up to find that Marrow looks quite different...more beautiful and apparently more in control of her powers. They rendezvous with the rest of the X-Men and blast into space on a ship just in time to escape the planet's destruction at the hands of Galactus. Kitty then charts a course to Earth that would take years, but the ship is equipped with a stasis field that makes the trip seem instantaneous. However, she miscalculates in that the team arrives still in the past...on the day of Joseph's death! Before they can act, the ship is knocked off course by the Magneto's magnetic pulse.
