The Animoirph Plex - Fan Fiction - The Oshmariddian Chronicles: #2: The Mysterious
The Oshmariddian Chronicles: #2: The Mysterious
Chapter One
My name is Flame.
Rhymes, dosn't it? Why do I care? Why is that Important to me?
I am an Oshmarron. You have probably never heard of my kind. We keep to ourselves. We'd never even heard of the Yeerks before we met the Animorphs.
We. Me, Flame Asprangne, My father, Joey Asprangne, and His brother Timmy, plus My friends Zoe and Dana, and Zoe's Boyfriend Jai. We were on vacation—we're all warriors of the Hardra Six, and we came to earth for a while, disguised as humans. We thought it was nothing big, but then we got caught off guard by those people. And that led off to a whole new adventure.
I was at the battle bridge.
"Flame, flame check this out!" Zoe said.
"Coming!" I yelled. I ran over. I tripped.
THUD.
"What are you, waxed or something?" Zoe helped me up and pulled me over to her computer.
"That's bad."
"Uh-huh." Zoe nodded. She called Joey over and his response was immediate.
"Fighters, rev up your ships. Looks like we're gonna fight. Flame, access the Zerek ship, get some info."
"Right." I ran to my ship, trying not to trip on the way. I climbed in and started the engine, then pulled out my laptop. I typed in, "Security access: Zerek Ship."
"Access is denied. Would you like to try a code?" Came the response.
"Yes."
"Access code? _ _ _ _ _ _ _"
"3987562" I typed. Hah, no prob. I had the code book memorized.
"Access permitted."
The screen changed views. I looked through a couple of files, copied them on to a disk, then shut off the laptop. I stood up and poked my head out of the hatch and yelled, "Hey, dad!"
I tossed a disk full of info into his waiting paws, then closed the hatch.
Then I shot out into space, following the others.
I was on a sneak team. While Zoe, Dana, and some of the others were leading a direct attack, My father, Timmy, Jai, Betsy and I were already getting on the ship.
It took a while. We snuck around to the unprotected side and teleported ourselves into the empty battle bridge.
"All right, let's head for the main disk area." Joey said.
"Yes." Betsy said. She's our pet…Joey's anyway. She is a baby dragon, Hondolian. She's pretty cool.
We headed into the dark halls, me in the middle. I was the youngest one there.
After about twenty minutes, I was worried. I get worried easily. I just knew we were totally surrounded, that there was no excape, that we were all going to die…
We came out into a large room with a high ceiling. Jai was bored, he started playing with a portable video game, and Joey and Timmy started gathering and destroying the Zerek's info.
"Creepy, huh Flame?" Timmy laughed. Joey knocked him on the head.
"Yup. Really creepy…" I said, looking up. I thought I saw something move. Probably my imagination.
"SMILE!" Jai yelled.
"WHA—" I turned to him.
FLASH! Was it a camera? What?
"What did you just—" I yelled.
SWWOOOOOSSSSHHH!
I felt a horrible pain in my back. Everything happened in about five seconds.
I knew only this:
Something had just sliced through my spine.
I was dying!
My father roared. I saw him leap.
Then…I don't know what happened. I opened my eyes, and I was in a dark room. Joey was in front of me, and jai to my left. My dad was crying. It was all so confusing, so strange.
"What's happening?" I asked.
"Flame, look at this." Jai held up something. Light blue. On a cord!
"That's…My heartstone!" I said.
"Not anymore. Sorry Flame. You…You're…The injury was fatal…You didn't live…I have your memories, Flame, but that's all that's left." Jai said sadly, forgivingly. "Flame, Flame, You're dead, Flame, You're dead…"
"FLAME! WAKE UP OR YOU'RE DEAD!!"
I sat up. THIS was irregular. My internal system was supposed to wake me up a 6:00 on the dot!
"Yeah, Yeah, I'm awake!" I yelled. Jai must have re-programmed me when he got me the new body. I haven't slept in in hundreds of years!
I jumped out of bed. I walked into the tiny kitchen of the Apartment where my dad was having coffee.
"Where's Jai? Zoe? Dana? The twins?" I asked.
"They went shopping. You coulda gone with them if you didn't sleep in. What's wrong?" Joey asked me.
"What?"
"You slept in? You haven't slept in in hundreds of years!"
"Mmm-hmm, Jai, I think. Who cares?" I said, pouring some coffee.
"You know, I Think we have to return a favor sooner or later. And don't forget to say Thank-you, Flame."
"Yeah, Yeah." I nodded. I morphed human, then pulled on a jacket. Quickly raking a comb through my hair, I walked out the door.
Ahem, Into it.
"Glasses, flame." Joey smiled. I grabbed the coke-bottle framed glasses and dashed out the door. Typical me.
Chapter Two
It didn't take long for me to locate Zoe and the Others. They were at the mall, fifth table at the food court. Jai was eating a pizza.
I got there as soon as I could. Jake and Ax were there, too. I guess I didn't pick them up.
"Hey, sleepy-head. Caught enough 'Z's?" Dana asked. I sat down, watching a large cinnamon bun disappear into Ax's mouth.
"I have never slept in before. Not even before…You know." I said, stealing one of Kalipso's fries. She stuck a tongue out at me.
"So, when's the attack scheduled?" I asked.
"Jake says that his brother Tom is going to the Yeerk Pool tonight. We can release him, along with the other hosts, when we get there." Jai said.
"Our basic plan is to enter the Yeerk pool through the changing room at the Gap. Why is it called that? We will enter looking like normal controllers. When we get there, we will hide and morph to our battle morphs, then make it up as we go along." Ax said.
"When?" I asked.
"Tonight, At eight. S' too bad, I'll miss Buffy. Bummer, ya know?" Zoe said.
"Who would care about a pretty girl that kills imaginable characters like demons? It's so Dumb!" Jai rolled his eyes.
"We have witnessed the television program ourselves. We consider it unrivaled and imposing." Carin disagreed, crossing her arms.
"Uhh. What-EVER!" Jai rolled his eyes again.
"The subject happens to be The Pool. Everyone okay with the time? I've already talked to the others. So we meet at Eight. I suggest getting a snack and watching TV" Jake said, smiling.
We left the mall, but not before Kalipso and Carin dragged us to the Icing.
"Totally irrelevant, yet Amazing. Take this doohidjey for example. It could bring sufficient amounts of 'cold cash' back on the Hardra." Kalipso said.
"What's a 'doohidgey'?" Jake whispered.
"When the girls can't think up a fancy word, they make one up and move on." I whispered back.
Kalipso and Carin nodded at each other and took all of the keychains off the rack, then all of the earrings. Between the two girls, (their human form made them look about nine) they carried all of their doohidjeys up to the counter and produced thirty dollars.
"Whoa, umm, I don't think you're allowed to buy the whole stock, girls." The teen behind the desk said worriedly.
"Preposterous. We shall give you a whole thirty dollars, just for some plastic and metal clipped onto paper." Carin tossed her blonde ponytail.
"I'll check with Bob." The girl said, and went into the backroom yelling, "Hey Bob?"
At this time, Kalipso and Carin nodded at each other and fixed their eyes on the back of her head. They were shooting memory beams. If I was correct, they were just taught this technique in their school.
"Yeah, Marla?" Bob said.
"Umm…These girls…umm...I forgot. Never mind! Now, what did you want? Ah, yes, the keychains. Your total is twenty-five ninety-five." Marla smiled.
After we had left the store and were heading out of the mall, Ax said, "You should have not done that. It was against the rules."
"Rules Smools." Carin said.
"Where do you think they got thirty dollars?" Jai said, looking up.
"We don't want to know. What are you going to do with those?" Jake asked Kalipso.
"Well, before this excursion is over, Kaly 'n Cair's will be lavishly in stock!" The twins laughed, and ran ahead.
"I don't get it." Ax said.
"Be glad." I said.
Chapter Three
"It's eight!" Kaly yelled from down the hall. My best guess was that the girls had just come from the swimming pool.
"Yeerk kicking time!" Carin yelled, busting in.
"Where do you think you're going? This is an Adult mission. Sorry girls." Jai said, coming in.
"Flame's not officially an Adult." Kaly said. I blushed and looked into my dinner plate for help. (Not like I found any.)
"Sure he is. He's older than you." Zoe said from the table.
"Five years, yeah." Carin muttered and walked into Jai and Zoe's room.
"They are Definitely not going. I mean, it's practically illegal! They're just pre-cadets. Flame, you are almost a grad." Jai said.
"Yeah, but I'm still a cadet for two years." I muttered, taking a sip of my coke.
All of my friends are five years older than me. Even my half-brother Martin is six years older than me! Ugh.
On the Hardra, you're a pre-cadet your first year. Then you're a cadet for seven years. Then for six glorious years, you're a grad cadet, where you have NO school, just fighting for the fighters or extra shooling for the non-fighters. Once the wonder years are over, you become a regular citizen. You can move to the planet of Vonkee, to live a normal life, you can move to Sommer to live a different life, or you can stay on the Hardra to become a full warrior, a scientist, or a technician, or whatever. (Lots of people drop out, by the way.)Zoe, Jai, and Dana are all Grads. I'm still a lowly sixth-year cadet.
I sighed.
I picked up six birds flying towards the apartment on radar. I almost said something.
"Let's see, there's a handsome young falcon at the window. Zoe, why didn't you tell me you were dating?!?" Jai yelled. That got a good laugh. I opened the window.
[well, come on! We're going to be late.] Rachel said. I nodded, and we all changed to Bird form.
"Hey, guess what, We're clear." Zoe turned off the TV "Buffy is just a rerun tonight. It's that one when Oz—"
SHUT UP AND COME ON. Jai moaned.
Soon, Thirteen birds flew out the window. Including two pairs of twins. Now tell me that didn't look weird.
[So far, So good.] Jake said.
[Uh, Jake? We haven't even reached the mall?] Rachel said.
[There could have been trouble. I mean, Thirteen birds of prey all going the same place? That's gotta look weird.] Cassie noted.
THERE'S THE MALL. AND I'M NOT A BIRD OF PREY. Timmy whined.
YES YOU ARE, YOU'RE AN OWL. Joey was probably rolling his eyes as he said it.
OH. K.
We dove and landed near the mall, then demorphed. The humans and Ax pulled out some shoes out of a dumpster and put them on, while I adjusted my goggle-like glasses and combed my wild red hair.
"We are go," Dana said with a smile.
We walked into the mall, and split into two groups, Animorphs and Aliens. Ha ha.
We reached the gap and carefully planned everything out. I went into the dressing room First, and analyzed the door. I Found how to open it and stepped inside.
A scream tore from below me. It was damp, cold, and scary. Plus there was dirt everywhere.
I waited until Jake came in. "What do we do?" I asked.
"You're the computer." He whispered.
"But I'm all hyped." I whined, looking towards the door impatiently.
"Just think, yeerk. Take-over-the-worldish. You know." Jake said. Jai came through.
"Jai, I'm scared. I'm not supposed to be scared." I said pleadingly.
Jai looked down the steps. Nobody was around. "Turn around."
I quietly obeyed, and he played with my neck for a second. "Stand by." He said.
"Wha-" I started. The next thing I knew, all of us were through, and I wasn't scared anymore.
"Did something happen?" I asked.
"I fixed you. I had to take out your disk." Jai said.
"Ah." I said. "Well, let's go!"
"Was fixing him a good idea?" Marco asked Jai. We started down the stairs.
"Hey, won't Tom be down there? So we'd better morph." Jake said. He started morphing, so did the others.
When they were done, us Osh/humans led the way. At the bottom of the never-ending steps, I could hear screams of hosts in cages. I shuddered, then looked away. Up. Waaaaaayy up.
"Hey, Timmy." I said.
"Yeah?" He said.
"Remember the Hondolian Dragon?" I said.
"Yeah." He smiled smugly.
"Guess what? THIS place happens to be large enough for that morph…"
Chapter Four
Timmy started morphing. The Dragon. Hondolian.
My father and him were both born as dragons. It is their 'home species'. An Osh's normal form, as an osh, would be their 'main species'. Timmy was morphing his 'home species.'
I don't have a home species. I was born as an osh, which is sort of rare.
Timmy was suddenly fifteen feet tall, with wings that made him thirty-five. From nose to tail, he was about forty feet long. With fire breath, four trunk-like legs, the works.
"Hey, Tim, leave some for the rest of us, okay?" Joey said.
"Don't Call me TIM!" My uncle shouted. Well, it wasn't really a shout, but Dragon voices are loud.
[Really. That morph makes the rest of us look so powerless.] Rachel said, jealous.
By now, We were pretty noticeable. I changed into my normal self. Yeah, this machine was ready to do mega-damage. I flexed my claws, and eased my read-only files. I overrided my 'secret' files, (because nobody on the Hardra is supposed to know about me, I have files that prevent me from accidentally using my super-android strength. They're called 'secret files'. Now, the brain is a different story. I've always been this smart, so there were no questions asked.) and was ready for attack.
[Let's go! Attack! Marco, Cassie, Timmy, get those hosts out of here. Find Tom, too. Everyone else, well, we fight.] Jake said.
ROOOOOAARRRRRR! I started.
ROOOOOAARRRRRR! Jake repeated.
ROOOOOAARRRRRR! Joey.
ROOOOOAARRRRRR! Zoe.
ROOOOOAARRRRRR! Jai.
ROOOOOAARRRRRR! Dana.
ROOOOOAARRRRRR! Rachel.
"EULALIA!"
"EULALIA!" Kalipso, Carin.
RRRROROOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAARRRRR!!!!
Uh….Timmy. Let's just say the ground shook and I feared being crushed to death by bits of falling debris?
I leapt and was face to face with a Hork-Bajir. I have no idea how I knew It was a Hork-Bajir, but instantly I used a copy file, and in instants looked exactly like him. He blinked, I blinked. "What?" He mumbled.
SLAAASSHHH! He was dead. Oh well. But my tactic wouldn't work on all of them, I changed back and leapt upon the nearest controller.
We were so totally winning! I saw Timmy and Marco and Cassie, Timmy with a cage full of Hork-Bajir, not opened yet, and Marco with an armful of human hosts. Cassie was leading some others on foot. YEAH!
ROOOOAAARRR! I yelled. This was so cool! I bit and tore and laughed with the thrill of fighting.
"SUSTAIN!!" I heard, then located. It was Kalipso. I looked for the word in my dictionary, but didn't find it.
"WHAT?" I yelled.
"Accommodate! Bolster! Advocate! Abet! Further! HHHEEEEEELLLLLLLLPPPP MEEEEEEEEEE!!!!" Was the scream.
Oh.
I ran for Kalipso. And Carin was there too. I looked to see if I could free them, even before I knew what had captured them.
It was the blue-ax-like-deer-guy. The Visor. Visser. Whatever. But he had a big sharp tail that I betted would have me in two halves in seconds.
"Hyah!" I said comically and switched my Veldons (on my Tails) to look like his scythe thing.
[WHAT?] He yelled. I backed up. He had his tail thing. But I had three. Ha-ha!
But, unfortunately, before I could do it, he had his blade close to my neck. Veeerrryy close to my neck.
[You are battling on our planet. You are mine to control, however I must do it!] He announced.
"Earth dosn't belong to you…"The blade skimmed my fur. I suddenly wasn't all that bold. "Of course it does. Your planet, Mine, haha, whoever's it happens to be, I'm sure that you'll have complete control. Yup, monopoly. Influence, Prevail, Prosper. YOU rule, conquer, dominate, direct, determine, master, conduct, administer…"
[SHUT UP, FOOL!] The Visser Guy yelled.
[Flame! Do what he says!] Rachel yelled at me.
"Tight. Right, I mean. I will shut up. I am silenced, muted, inarticulated, soundless, speechless, dumb…quiet…"
[SHUT UP!!!! What is wrong, are you broken? Ha ha, this amuses me.] He said. Two Hork Bajir grabbed my arms as I started to fall, as well as the twins'. I was dead scared. Afraid, frightened, fearful, panic-stricken, perplexed, horrified, terrified, shocked…sorry.
I started to short circuit. I tried breathing deeply. Blah. I didn't notice anything that happened while Kalipso, Carin and I were dragged off. I…was…totally…where's a word I haven't used before up there?!
Then, things got really, really creepy.
Chapter Five
"Where are we currently located? Who are our captors? Where is the rest of our party?" Kalipso wondered. She was pacing around the cage. Yup. We were taken down this hallway, I think, and put into a cage with some Hork-Bajir. Free ones, that is. I was talking to one of them.
"Where. Are. You. From." I said, making a chopping motion with my hand at every word.
"Yeerk go from ear. Went into pool." The creature suggested. I hit my head. Duhhhhhhhhh.
"REEEEEOWWW! LEMMEGO!" I heard. My head shot towards the gated entrance.
A young Hork-Bajir was held up by an arm, where it could not hurt any of the Controllers. It was so small compared to the others.
"Put her in one of the cages until the Visser can deal with them." A controller said. She was thrown into ours. She landed with a thud, then got up and started hammering the lock. The guards jabbed at her with the butts of lasers until she was forced back with us.
"RRRRRRR!"
"Who you?" Asked a Hork. She whirled to face him.
"What?" She asked.
"We ask for you to designate your identity." Cairn said, as if it was obvious.
"My name is Toby. I'm a seer." She said. "What are you?"
"So being a seer makes you…?" I asked, ignoring her question.
"I learn quicker." Toby said. I nodded.
"We are-"
before I could let Kalipso and Carin talk, I said, "Those are walking dictionaries, and I'm a supercomputer. When we are safe, perhaps there will be time to explain."
"I see. But I don't think we'll be getting out of here." Toby said. "All of these Hork-Bajir couldn't get out." She sighed, looked down. "I have a request." She said slowly, glancing towards the locked door.
"Yeah?" I was analyzing the gate, not really listening.
"If the Visser comes, take my life. Please."
"And do what with it?" I said. OK, that proves I wasn't listening.
The twins gasped. "Decapitation!" Kalipso started.
"Execution!"
"Assassination!"
"Guillotineate!"
"Extermination!"
"Asphyxiation!" Carin ended.
"What?" Toby, Kalipso, and I asked.
"Uhh, Kill?" Carin asked.
"What?" I asked, looking from Toby to the twins.
"Kill Yeerks?" A Hork-Bajir asked.
Toby sighed. "This is getting nowhere." She mumbled.
I finished the analyzation. "What's this about Killing and Asphyxerablingingorwhatevering?"
"KILL ME!!!!" Toby yelled, looking at the ceiling. Everyone stopped talking.
"Not kill small Hork-Bajir, Kill Yeerks!" Said a Hork-Bajir. Nobody listened.
Kalipso put a paw on her hip. "We have encountered suicidal computers, benevolent yet frightened extraterrestrial lizerdy whodajamabobs, a debauched indigo deer, and our colleague Jai Jeo Jessuniac's bedroom, but yet we have never encountered a stipulation so phrenic as a adolescent asking for her demise!"
Everyone looked at her. Everyone was quiet.
"I want…need to die because excape is obviously out, and I have information that cannot fall into yeerk hands." Toby said.
"That Phrenic enough for you, Kalipso?" I asked.
"Shut your Fuss." She snapped.
I decided to move on. "Toby, we don't plan on staying here either. And we CAN excape." I said.
"How?" She asked.
"I have found the weaknesses in the gate, and I know how we can knock it over."
"Okay, then, can I call off the part about killing me then?"
"Nope." I said sarcastically. The twins made it a little hard…
"no."
"Absolutely not."
"Sorry."
"Out of the question."
"Nyet."
"contrite."
"repentant."
"Guys, Guys, GUYS!" I yelled. "Let's just get out of here, ok?"
"Affirmative!"
Chapter Six
I walked up to the door. Gate. Nothing special, but it held fast. I touched the weak spot. Yup, it would work.
I waited for just the right moment. The guards were off-guard. I sent a high voltage of energy to the gate.
It shattered. Right where it stood, it broke into seventy five different peices and everyone stared at me…including Kalipso and Caren.
"Uh…wow." Toby said.
"Come on!" I yelled. Our small army of Hork-Bajir and Osh charged out, ready for anything.
Controller! SHWOOP! Hah, he was nothing! A hork-bajir took him out. We charged on!
[Flame! Kaly! Cair! That better be you!] Tobais said.
"That you Tobias?" Toby yelled.
[Toby! Nice to see you!]
HEY, WE SORTA HAVE MORE IMPORTANT THINGS TO DO? I yelled.
[Right!] Said Rachel. I watched as a huge grizzly take out some Taxxons.
[Where's the Visser?] Demanded Ax.
YOU MEAN THE ANDALITE YEERK? Timmy asked, lumbering over, JUST SAW HIM COWARDING OVER THERE. JUMP ON HORSE-BOY, I'LL GIVE YOU A LIFT.
Ax leapt onto Timmy's monsterous back and in four steps the two were at the other end of the Yeerk pool. Ax jumped off and I lost sight of him.
Suddenly a hush fell over the roaring cavern. My sencors told me that it was two Andalites—Visser Three and Ax. This was a…ohh, what's it called? Face off, I think.
I spread my wings and in a few flaps was over there. I watched Ax strike first, aiming for his stalk eyes.
A direct hit! One of the Visser's Stalk Eyes fell to the floor. [Fool child!] He cried, [Now you must die!]
[How much do you trust this body?] Ax challenged, [or do you need to morph to excape with your life?]
[You think I am a coward?] The Visser slashed madly at Ax's chest, drawing Andalite blood. He Screamed in pain, then swiped at The Yeerk's other eye. A miss.
I contacted Jai. He was the only one that could help Ax in this.
JAI, MAN. AX'S GOTTA KILL THAT YEERK DUDE. BUT I THINK WE NEED TO HELP HIM.
NO KIDDING. I TELL THE OTHERS. BUT LET THE ANDALITE FINISH HIM OFF, RIGHT? Jai asked.
RIGHT.
Jai told Zoe, Kalipso, Carin, Timmy, and Joey of our plan. And They began to concentrate on their Heartstones…
Chapter Seven
I could see Jai, Zoe and Joey. They were already weilding the Green, Purple and Blue power in their mind and paws. The others took a little more time because we get less practice.
Timmy's Blue (somewhat deeper) color came through, and Then the twins' Jungle green color as well.
WE"RE READY. I said. RACHEL, JAKE, CASSIE, TOBAIS, TOBY, MARCO, HORK-BAJIR, STAND BY FOR ATTACK. LET AX HAVE THE GLORY THOUGH, HE COULD USE IT.
"HEY! Visser butt!" Jai yelled. The one stalk eye swiveled around. Typical Jai, threatening.
SLAAASH! Ax chopped off the other stalk eye!
BINGO, I thought.
Joey's power enveloped Visser Three. He went from dark blue to light blue. Then Jai's green was added. Blue-green. Then Purple, from Zoe, then Green from the Twins and Blue from Timmy.
[AAAAHHHHUGGG!!] Screamed the Visser in Pain.
"Fermmiss nerrak Visser!" Yelled the Hork-Bajir controllers. Save the Visser.
I closed my eyes. Their energy was draining. Slowly everyone withdrew but Jai and Joey. Probably the two most powerful of us all. I had no Heartstone power—for the heart needs the stone, and the stone needs the heart. The heart which I do not have.
I could see what was happening. Five Hork-Bajir were dragging the Yeerk away. He was no longer in the deadly circle of power.
JAI! JO! STOP YOU'RE HURTING AX! I yelled. They stopped. The Yeerk pool became quiet again. Ax was wavering on four feet, and he was covered in blood. Timmy swooped him up in one gigantic claw.
[Ax, we're going after the Visser. You did well.] Jake said. A tiger, a Gorilla, a Grizzly, a wolf and five freed Hork-Bajir left, chasing Visser Three.
"Forgive me, Aximili, I shouldn't have helped you out." Jai said.
[Thank you, for saving me. I never could have done all that on my own.] Ax said, standing back on his feet.
"Yeah, but you're hurt-"
[My injuries mean nothing! I am going after the Visser to avenge my brother!] Ax said, and limped off.
"One heck of a guy." Joey proclaimed.
"uh, guys, we sorta forgot that we're in the middle of a raging war." I said quietly.
"Oh. Right. DIE!" Was Zoe's immediate reaction. She leapt back into the fray.
"We've gotta get out of here." I said, looking around. "NO! Uncle Timmy!" I yelled.
The bus-sized Dragon had a 10-foot gash in his side and was halfway submerged in the yeerk pool, almost unconcious.
"Aww, how'd ya do that?" Zoe hissed.
OWIE! Timmy gasped.
HEY, MAN, GET UP, YOU'LL BE OK BRO. Joey said. He took out a human-controller starting to pull the trigger of a dracon beam.
"Let's bust this place." Joey said. Timmy demorphed and I carried him, being the strongest.
With Zoe As our backup, we got to the stairs. My father looked at me sideways. "You can handle this oaf that calls himself a twin? Looks heavy." He said. I looked down at myself. My knees were buckling and shaking.
"Uh, no, clever programming." I said, blushing. Jai was REALLY good. I mean, I couldn't even pick up Carin before I became a robot, and If they saw me carrying Timmy they'd think something was up. But I didn't feel any weight at all.
We were almost at the top of the stairs. I felt the vibrations in the ground long before the others did…
"LOOK OUT!" I yelled, and suddenly the second step in front of us shot upwards, creating a barrier that not even Jai could jump over.
"Hey, put me down I'm not a baby anymore." Timmy whined. I dropped him on the floor.
"Don't be so sure." Joey murmured. Timmy tripped him.
[Weaklings! You won't excape untill I find out what you are!] Came the Voice of Visser three.
The stairs behind us were filling up with Hork-Bajir. Trapped.
Then suddenly, from the celing, a monster fell. It was amazing! It had a sharp beak, six legs, and eight wildly rolling eyes. I assumed that it must be Visser three.
"Careful." Joey warned. A second later, a burst of light blue shot out of his stone. It had no effect on the strange monster.
"We're getting out of here." Jai yelled. He prepared to charge.
"Jai!" Zoe whined. She likes Jai too much.
[Nobody will be going anywhere. I have your friends the Andalites.] Visser Three cackled.
"Prove it." I spat lamely.
Four tentacles shot out of his back. Seconds later he was holding an Unconscious Aximili-Esgarouth-Isthill in them.
"Hey, how'd he do that?" Jai frowned jealously.
[Let yourselves be captured and no harm will come to them.] Visser three said.
"Liar." I muttered. I just knew it. For real. I did. My sensors said. "You'll kill them anyway."
[How fast you learn.] He laughed. [Take away those stones. That is their power source.] He ordered. The Horkies moved in closer.
"Ooh," Joey mocked, "You took exactly five weeks shorter than the humans did to figure THAT out."
I shuddered. Our words weren't going to hurt the beast we faced. My friends--They'd all turn out dead sooner or later.
Like me.
Chapter Eight
Jai moved!
The Visser raised a bladed tentacle to Ax's stomach. To late! A flash of a Veldon and the tentacle was nothing but a wriggling mass on the floor.
"JAI!" Zoe yelled. Flash! Ax dropped to the floor, the tentacle holding him aloft had been cut in two. He instantly regained conciousness and sought out the scene.
Jai was standing, Veldons rasied high (by the way, a Veldon is a piece of light metal connected to our Tails, and it can change shapes for different weapons) breathing hard, Visser three demorphing because loss of blood, Ax ready to go Tail-To-Tail with the Visser, and The rest of the Oshes wondering what the heck is going on.
Movement! Jai Jumped! He landed on the demorphing Visser's head, (which was still pretty high up) and jumped the rest of the way up to the stairs. The way out.
[Kill that creature!] The visser yelled. By then he was completely demorphed. But before he could do anything, Ax's tail was at his throught.
[Free my comerads, Visser.] He hissed. [Let us free. This fight will take place later.]
[Never! Kill them all!] Visser Three yelled.
Ax's blade pressed against his throught harder.
[Send them away and run after them.] He commanded.
The Visser saw the hate and determination in Ax's eyes and backed away. [Retreat.] He said, barely above a whisper. He dashed to the back of the troops who were slowly backing up.
I gracefully leapt up next to Jai. I guess it was showing off. Suddenly, below us, part of the wall –which was really a hollogram—faded away and the Animorphs raced out of there.
Jai leaned over the edge and extended a paw, ready to help everyone up. Just then—
[Charge!!] It was the Visser's voice. The army of Taxxon and Hork-Bajir ran forward.
GET THEM UP HERE! Jai yelled at Joey, Zoe, Timmy, and Dana. They began to change into small dragons.
And a small dragon isn't that small. Joey picked up Rachel's Grizzly morph easily and spread his wings. The room was too small to fly, so he dug his claws into the rock and climbed up. Timmy carried Cassie, Zoe, Jake, Dana, Marco, and Tobais flew. We were safe on the ledge, with not to many injuries save some light laser burns.
"Come on, let's get going." I said. I lead the way out into the night.
Chapter Nine
The next morning, I woke up a 6:00 sharp. Back to my schedule. I re-programmed myself.
I planned out a nice little day: first coffee, then glasses, then walk in the park, then talk with Erek.
Ahh, nice calm day.
Coffee. I sat there drinking and thinking. Ooh, another lame rhyme. I thought about what had been gain or lost yesterday. Ax, I think, gained more responsibility about avenging his brother. He wasn't upset that he didn't exactly win. We'd made the Visser retreat, but we'd run away in the end.
All in all, it was a good attack. And nobody died.
I finished my coffee, read a scene from Hamlet , And located and put on my glasses. Ooh, I could see.
I left the apartment and took a short walk towards the park. I realized that this was where our whole adventure with the Animal Morphers had started. But no way would I fall for a trap like that again.
On my way to the park, some older kids (well, not physically older, because I was 1, 128 years old) were talking and acting peaceful. Well, as peaceful as teenagers can act, I guess.
I walked down the street to Erek's house and opened the door. Nobody was home. At least, nobody above ground. I headed back over to the Apartment again. By then, Joey was up.
"Figure anything out?" He asked me.
"Absolutely nothing." I complained, "I want to go home."
"So do I." He said, "Why don't we?"
"We CAN???!!!" I yelled, "Oh, great! I'll get the Computers and stuff and you can get the machine ready! ALL RIGHT!!!"
Joey sighed and shook his head. "Lunch time is when we leave. Be ready, Okay?" He left the room.
Home…The swimming pool, the battles, my friends, Erin, whom I loved so much…Ooh, goody.
Home…
