Spells

I have assembled below a number of spell from my personal book of shadows. Many of which comes from books that I have listed in the reference section with can be found on the links page. You will read how to cast a circle as well as prayers to the  God and Goddess. Also I have also included some starter spells to get you going. If any one who happens to come across these pages and have some good spells (with the exception of love spells) I will look over them and add them to the page. Please describe the casting of the spell. Also try to keep them to a starter level. If I get a lot of advance spells I will open a new web just for them.

Love Spells:

I do not give out, or teach any one any kind of love spell. As they can violate a persons free will. Any one who uses love spells be warned. Such action will bring about bad karma. Three times Three as I will it so mote it be.

Casting a Circle

You start out by making sure all the things you will need for any spell work is near the alter or on it in an appropriate place. Make sure all candles, incenses, herbs, and tools are cleansed and consecrated before use. For an out side circle if you have a place which is out of the way and not visible to any one who might intrude on the scared land you might wish to use stones to form you circle. To make a prefect circle  plant a stake in the center and run a string out as large as you wish your circle. Now take a stick or some other item and make in the ground as you go around the circle. This will give you a line for you to place stones on to keep a constant circle. In the four corners North, East, South, and West use either large stones or a pile of little ones so you know which direction is which. Place other smaller stones around the circle on the line you drew placing them evenly as you can. Next you might wish to use a small amount of salt along with some herbs and sprinkle over the mark around your circle. Now this land is protected and ready to go. You can place your alter and the other supplies down and then cast the circle as below, But for each new circle you cast you should use a ceremonial broom, rituals, and herbs to clean the area of the circle once it has been cast. For indoor rituals and spells you can cast the same way. You can use small stones for the elemental directions. The right color candles can also be used, to define the perimeter of your circle. Or if none of these are available you may just visualize the circles boundary.

For teenagers under sixteen I do not suggest you light any candles while doing any rituals unsupervised by and adult. The risk of starting a fire is very high. This goes for both indoors and out. Always place candles in or on a glass or other non combustible holder or surface.  And for every one who does use a lot of burning candles always watch your cloths and the cloths of those around you. Fire is not some thing to play with carelessly. It will consume any thing it gets a chance to and in seconds can catch carpet, beds, and cloths on fire. A small fire can turn into a uncontrollable one in seconds.  The result can be who houses burned to the ground and all the possessions and mementos. in the home, many of which money can not replace gone for ever. In dry grass and woods out side a fire can be just as deadly. Spreading fast and killing animals that make the forest home as well as homes in the area. So always be aware of the surroundings when working with fire. It is also not a bad idea to have a fire extinguisher some where nearby out side of the circle.

Any person who will be entering Circle should be Smuged (cleansed) with a stick of sage.

Start facing East with your Wand or Athame in your hand.  Point your Wand or Athame at the Easrthern most of your circle, (the stone or candle you have used). Calm your self and find your self at peace as you start the ritual.  Speak softly and calmly and feel the elementals energy charging your circle as you call them forth.

"O Spirits of the East, Ancient One of Air, I call you to attend this Circle. Charge this by your powers, Old Ones!"

Turn again slowly to the South your Wand or Athame fallowing your circles edge till you are facing the South.

"O Spirits of the South, Ancient One of Fire, I call you to attend this Circle. Charge this by your powers, Old Ones!"

Turn to the West slowly as before.

"O Spirits of the West, Ancient One of Water, I call you to attend this Circle. Charge this by your powers, Old Ones!"

Turn to the North slowly as before.

"O Spirit of the North, Ancient One of the Earth, I call you to attend this Circle. Charge this by your powers, Old Ones!"

Now turn around the circle three times holding your Wand or Athame as before. Stopping back to where you started Facing North.

"Here is the boundary of this Circle. Naught but love shall enter in, Naught but love shall emerge from within. Charge this by your powers, Old Ones! Charge this By your Powers Old Ones!"

Now raises your Wand or Athame to the sky.

"As I will it!"

Point your Wand or Athame down to the ground

"So Mote It Be!"

If you are casting the circle by your self and using candles once you reach the new direction you can either go to the edge and light the candle you are using at the Elemental directions and then return, Or if using stones or only visualizing  you can put the right colors on your alter and light them there. If you are working with more then one person one of the others of the circle may light the candles once you reach that direction and start speaking. If working with a number of people you could even have one person stand at each of the Elemental directions and have them speak the verses as one person stands in the center turning with the Wand or Athame.

If you have at least four people in the circle one person can stand at each direction and Call that corner. When some one is call a direction every one else should be facing that direction.

Once your Circle has been cast if there are others with in the circle have them move to the center of the circle by the alter and sit either beside or in a semi circle around the front of the alter.  Now you should start with a Charge of the Goddess and God. I have once of each listed below.

Then you can use either of the chants I have listed or go right to ritual or spell work.

Song of the Goddess

I am the Great Mother, worshipped by all creation and existent prior to their consciousness.  I am the primal female force, boundless and eternal.

I am the chaste Goddess of the Moon, the Lady of all magick. The wings and moving leaves sing my name. I wear the crescent moon upon my brow and my feet rest among the start heavens. I am the field untouched by the plow.  Rejoice in me and know the fullness of youth.

I am the blessed Mother, the gracious Lady of the harvest. I am clothed with the deep. Cool wonder of the Earth and the gold of the fields heavy with grain. By me the tides of Earth are ruled. All things come to fruition according to my season. I am refuge and healing. I am the life-giving Mother, wondrously fertile.

Worship me as the Crone, tender of the unbroken cycle of death and rebirth. I am the wheel, the shadows of the Moon. I rule the tides of women and men and give release and renewal to weary souls. Though the darkness of death is my domain, the joy of birth is my gift.

I am the Goddess of the Moon, the Earth, the Seas. My names and strengths are manifold. I pour forth magic and power, peace and wisdom. I am the eternal Maiden, Mother of all, and the Crone of darkness, and I send you blessings.

Call of the God

I am the radiant king of the Heavens, flooding the Earth with warmth and encouraging the hidden seed of creation to burst forth into manifestation, I lift my shinning spear to light the lives of all beings and daily pour forth my gold upon the Earth, putting to flight the powers of darkness.

I am the master of the beasts wild and free. I run with the swift stag and soar as a sacred falcon against the shimmering sky. The ancient woods and wild places emanate my powers, and the birds of the air sing of my sanctity.

I am also the last harvest, offering up grain and fruits beneath the sickle of time so that all may be nourished. For without planting there can be no harvest, without winter no spring.

Worship me as the thousand-named Sun of creation, the spirit of the horned stag in the wild, the endless harvest. See in the yearly cycle of festivals my birth death and rebirth- and know that such is the destiny of all creation.

I am the spark of life, the radiant Sun, the giver of peace and rest, and I send my rays of blessings to warm the hearts and strengthen the minds of all.

The Blessing Chant

May the powers of The One,

The source of all creation;

All-pervasive, omnipotent, eternal;

May the Goddess,

the Lady of the Moon;

and the God,

Horned Hunter of the Sun;

may the powers of the Spirits of the Ancient Ones,

rulers of the elemental realms;

may the powers of the stars above and the Earth below,

bless this place, this time, and I who am with You.

Witches’ Chant

Darksome night and shining Moon,

Hearken to the Witches’ rune.

East then South, West then North,

Hear! Come! I call Thee forth!

By all the powers of land and sea,

Be obedient unto me.

Wand Pentacle and Sword,

Hearken ye unto my word.

Cords and Censer, Scourge and Knife,

Waken all ye into life.

Powers of the Witches’ Blade,

Come ye as the charge is made.

Queen of the sea, Queen of the Dell,

Send your aid unto the spell.

Horned Hunter of the night,

Work my will by magick rite.

By all the powers of land and sea.

As I do say, so mote it be!

By all the might of Moon and Sun,

As I do will, it shall be done.

After you have spoken any Chants or prayers you wish to start with you are ready to move on to any other work you wish to do. This can include nothing more then using a candle or a scrying bowl to meditate Or you may have any thing from healing, spells, or Holiday celebrations to perform. After all spell work is complete if it is called for by the celebration you have preformed of if you just wish to the Offering is preformed. And finally the Closing of the Circle.

Giving the Offering

Normal used for rituals to give thanks and return some of what nature has provided. Always a good idea for harvest festivals. Perform the offering at the end of your rituals just before you close your circle. If done inside the items can be poured into a cleansed and consecrated bowl.

I horror the spirit of the North.

(hold the bowl to the north)

I honor the spirits of the East.

(hold the bowl to the east)

I honor the spirits of the South.

(hold the bowl to the south)

I honor the spirits of the West.

(hold the bowl to the west)

I honor the spirits of my ancestors.

(hold the bowl in front of you facing north again)

I honor the Lord and Lady.

(raise the bowl above your head)

I honor the spark of life.

(lower the bowl back down)

From perfection to perfection this gift is given.

So mote it be!

(pour out the contents)

Closing of the Circle

To close the circle you go about it in the reverse order you started. Start at the North and go West. As you go if you used candles for the four Elemental directions as you go snuff out each candle. Do not blow them out! Visualize the circle closing and the power the Spirits Of the Elementals as well as the Goddess and God leaving your circle peacefully. And remember to always release and other Spirits or and other power you call forth when finished unless you wish to earn ill karma.

Stand facing North, with your Athame or Wand in your hand pointing at the boundary of the circle. "Farewell, Spirits of the North, I/we give thanks for your presence here. Stay if you will, Go if you must!" At this point snuff out candles and move/turn to the West, then South, East, and back to North again. Once at North Give thanks to the Goddess and God.
"Lady of the Moon, Lord of the Sun I/we give thanks for thee presence here. Stay if you will, Go if you must!"
"As I will it So Mote It Be!"
Snuff out Goddess and God Candle. Now your circle is closed.

Give me Health,

Wealth, and Wisdom,

The Divine Three.

As I will it,

So Mote it Be!

Candle Spell

After casting your circle and performing any chants and or invocations take a candle of the appropriate color, and with Dragons Blood and a pen write your desired effect. Also with a strong needle or other small metal object I have found you can carve the wording in if you do not have a supply of Dragons Blood. (Make sure all objects used for ritual crafting are first cleansed) When ready light the candle and if available the appropriate incense. (All spell Candles should be allowed to burn out if at all possible.) Visualize your spells effect and it working to do your bidding. As you speak:

Upon this Candle I will write,

What I receive of thee this night.

Grant what I wish you to do,

I dedicate this rite to you.

I trust that you will grant this boon,

O Lovely Goddess of the Moon.

I call Earth to bond my Spell,

Air speed its travel well,

Fire give it spirit from above,

Water quench my spell with love.

So Mote it Be!
