Teens Today
It has not been that long since I was a teen. I still remember those days. For some the teen years seem easy going, for the rest of us we struggle through it. And For some their lives are tragically cut short. Teens make up 14% of society and represent 31% of victims of violent crimes. Also Teen suicide rate is the third leading factor in teen deaths. Being a teen in the world today is not easy. But we do not help our selves in the matter.
Teens are mean to each other because they are different, are not athletic, "Good looking", don't fit in, or just because they are easy targets. Many seem to think "Good Looks" (What ever style or fashion are in) or athletics are what matter. Let me address these issues to you. The best looking girls are often mean stuck up snobs. The best looking guys are often jerks and want nothing more to do with you once he is done in your pants. Know that almost all High School relationships fail once you graduate and move one. But understand that once you get out of High School and enter the real world you will find that things seem to change. Then at last you will come to know what kind of person you are looking to spend the rest of your life with.
A tip of advice to you ladies. Until a guy grows up and matures, they just want to get into your pants and then brag about it. Maturing may take some time to happen or for some it may never happen at all. Don't let your selves be taken advantage of until you are sure you are ready. Any guy who truly loves you will wait till you two are joined in marriage or at least until you are ready. If you want a good education and a good career, it is hard to do so while taking care of a child. Not to mention if the guy is not ready to be a dad and leaves you. Use birth control of some kind if you are sexually active. You can get birth control pills if you are 18 with out you parents knowledge. Talk to your doctor. Do be aware that condoms do break, and they break often.
Hey you guys sex isn't every thing. If you are not ready to be a father and have to work to support a family you had better not engage in sex. Both of you guys and girls need to be aware of STDs. I know you have heard it before and you need to hear it again until it sinks in. If you ask around you will find out that if you don't know some one your self, one of you friends knows some one with an STD. Do be aware that condoms do break, and they break often.
Now as for sports. There is nothing wrong with sports and gaming. But when parents and TV show and teach that winning is every thing this is where things go wrong. Teens start taking on this attitude them selves and find this a reason to pick on or signal out some one cause they are not athletic. I don't know of many who made it with nothing but athletic talent. Not many become sports stars. Many who get this far in life with sports think that they are better then every one else. For them there position in life is not set in stone for ever. The time may come when society is not longer interested in over paid people playing games. Sports should be for developing skills and learning team work. Rarely do we see that today.
One last bit of advice for those who need it. If you are feeling troubled in life and thinking of ending your life, things can get better. Stick in school get good grades. They will help you make a better life for your self. If you work hard you can get out of the spot you are in and make a better life for you self. Do not take the easy way out. If you are troubled with feelings of over abundant emotions find any out let. Martial Arts, poetry, writing, acting, religion, or what ever works. There is always hope. Don't give up.
