Appling Flex wax

Shaving the Flex wax speeds meling. Shavings can also
be added to help maintain consistancy of the wax.

The safe way is to melt the wax in a double boiler.

You will know you have the right consistancy
when it looks like honey and is just short of resolidifing.

Apply the first layer carefully to preserve the detail.

One trick is to imerse in cold water or run the water over the mold between layers to speed up the setting. Also rotating the model as you apply the wax to the horizontal surface will greatlly reduce runs and give far better results. Some bumps and runs can actually be an advantage if you decide to make a saddle mold for supporting larger items.

Make sure you have a good flange on the mold.
