A Faerie Dream

O creatures of the Fae
enter my dreams;
fill them with magical wonder
and childhood beliefs.

Dance in the black darkness
of sleep within my mind;
create so many wonders
of dreams to fill my eyes.

We dance in the black night
with footsteps lightly trampling;
under silver, moonlit skies
upon lands unknown and hills so green.

Their faces brightly radiant
with cheerful faerie glee;
their wings tipped with silver
they danced and sang with me.

The night's black warmth
all full of magic splendour
was pierced with horrid light
and my dreams ripped assunder.

I mourned the loss aloud
of comforting black night;
O come faeries again
and take me from my mundane life...
