Profile: Impulse is the young construct of Database, an old friend of Alpha Trion. That would make her creation 4 million years after this time. Database constructed a sim personality to keep him company when he repaired the computers at the base of Iacon. Later he found a home with the Female Autobots led by Aleta 1. His function became to assist them with repairs in Alpha Trion's absence.
Impulse's sim personality was so promising Database traveled to Vector Sigma, whom granted him a spark making the sim live. Saving it on disc, he rapidly constructed a body in his workshop at Iacon. Thus Impulse was created. Her robot body is an amalgam of new experimental metals, impervious to the Cosmic Rust plague of Mantissa. And a new feature, known as a revitalize. It is an energy absorption unit that recycles the potential energy wasted, and feeds it back into Impulses' system. It saves her from having to recharge as often. Also her framework was much more rugged in design than the average female Autobot's, insuring that she cannot be easily damaged by simple bomb or laser fire.
Being the most empathic, impulse can interface with almost any computer. Often she desires to take calculated risks wanting to further her knowledge. Reserved, a bit aloof, she is sociable. She is sometimes avoided due to her deep giftedness and empathy. Tries new concepts and is a group supporter. She shows strong will in a crisis, but she sometimes doubts her abilities. On Earth Impulse has a hidden maturity beyond her young years, compared with the other Autobots she is four million years younger... She is an artist at heart, each microchip and computer program is a work of art to her.
Abilities:
Impulse can interface with just about any computer system on Cybertron, Earth, or most other colony planets. Her charming outgoing personality adds to this ability. The special cybernetic outlets on her helmet and chest units enable this. Also she wears an interfacial arm guard that lets her plug into more compact systems. Her mind has special filters resistant to most viruses, and the outlets make her telepathic in nature to other Transformers.
When in vehicular mode, she can achieve speeds to upwards of 300mph. She carries an electrostatic gun capable of throwing a blast of nearly a quarter mile. This gun can also fire focused beams of electrical power, which can temporarily fuse circuits and melt them. Her eletroscramble device can also scramble a rogue computer's circuits for three minutes. She can repair most computer subroutines, circuit breaches, and microchips. Impulse can generate energy from most electrical sources through her revitalize and is not bothered by influxes of electrical energy, which she can harness into blasts. Because of this she has extraordinary endurance in battle, when most Autobots have fallen. She is admired for marked pliancy in her various duties. In Cybertron car mode Impulse can also generate a magnetic force field. She is fuel efficient with a range of five hundred miles and atop speed of 200 mph.
As mentioned before her circuits give her some telepathic ability. This can extend to enable her to discern thoughts of "fleshling" telepaths.
Weaknesses:
Impulse is extremely curious about the world around her. Her curiosity often gets her into trouble. Also, anything illogical tends to confuse her. She is a bit innocent and too trusting sometimes.
History:
Impulse resided on Cybertron with the other Female Autobots till the moment of Cybertron into Earth's atmosphere. A crack team of Female Autobots went down to try and stop the Deception plan. Unknown to Optimus and the others, they succeeded in thwarting the repair of the grav pilons. Unfortunately Impulse was left behind, buried in the massive storms.
Found eight months later by Autobot Prowl, she was brought to the Ark, and repaired. Unable to return, she made her place with the Autobots on Earth at the volcano. Her computer expertise enabled her to constantly help Wheel jack and Rachet fix Teletran 1. She redesigned the systems to stop Decepticon plots often.
At first she had trouble with becoming "one of the boys". Sunstreaker thought she showed off too much. And Trax was stuck up regarding her. Mirage and Bumblebee were her main allies, as was Prowl, who was attracted to the female Autobot. Optimus Prime saw her value, and became her biggest advocate. She proved herself invaluable when saving the "guys" from a Decepticon plot. Soon she was accepted by even the most "chauvinistic" Autobots, who granted her grudging respect.
Often she helps Perceptor, for they have an understanding. Both are good scientists, excellent in their fields. And no computer programmer knows all the intricacies with dealing with a temperamental machine like Teletran 1!
