Thus Spake the Creator

Timing

Q: Thank you -- I've really enjoyed the series and look forward to reading your current book. I'm having trouble placing the amount of time that has gone by since the early days when the Aes Sedai came to Three Rivers. How long has it been?
A: It's about two years since the beginning. Roughly--very roughly.

Q: Mr Jordan. I was a bit disappointed in Winters Heart. The last chapter in PoD has Salidar Aes Sedai stepping through a gateway in eyesight of Dragonmount. In WH, you have them still in Murandy. Did they get too cold to stay??
A: No. WH overlaps the ending of the last book

Q:About how much time has elapsed in the course of the books so far?
A: Depending on how you look at it, either one or two years.

Reports from signings

Q17: [Regarding the flow of time in books]
A17. Books 1 through 9 cover (very roughly) about 4 years [made a point of roughly, as I doubt even he could whip out a precise answer on the spot]
Most of the books overlap with each other. Some of the events in early WH, for example, overlap with late PoD.
