Power Description, Workings, & Limitations:
In addition to his perfect connection between his two bodies, Dual has rather impressive telekenetic and
telepathic powers.

Unlike most people who's psychic avatars reside (as best as can be explained to non-psychics) inside
their heads, Dual's avatar resides in between the two minds. Thus he controls both bodies perfectly,
with no one being the "primary" body. Physically, however the two bodies are completely seperate. Like
twins, they have not grown at the exact same rate, hence the minor difference in height and size, and
physical damage is seperate. To clarify; if one was to run high voltage through one body, it would
incapacitate that body, and cause significant distraction to Dual's avatar, but the other body would be
able to still function physically fine.

He can pick up small objects (nothing heavier than a brick) with a casual thought. Anything heavier
than that (up to a person) can be picked up with focused concentration. Pulling all of one of his two
attentions onto a task will allow him to pick up anything up to the weight of a car, while if he focuses
his entire mind on a task, he can pick up a tank. Note that either both selves must be present to do
this, or else whichever one isn't present will have to go into a complete shut down.

Telepathically, he can detect the presence of mental activity (animal or human), or extreme emotions
(active hate or fear for example) as simple as a regular sense. If he focuses a bit, he can pick up
surface thoughts and emotions, while full concentration of one half of his attention will allow him to
communicate completely mentally and explore the subject's conscious mind, assuming the subject is
willing. If not, it becomes a contest of wills. To fully enter the subjects mind, he must, as always,
send in his avatar, and thus his entire concentration is needed.

acrobatics
sword fighting
staff fighting
karate
pool
advanced mathmatics
driving (particuarly bikes)

History:
Dual is one of the most unusual mutants I've ever seen. He is a rare case of birth-mutant, one
who was born with their mutant powers already manifested. In Dual's case, what his parents thought were
twins, was actually a single individual who inhabited two bodies. At first, his parents did not realize
there was anything unique about their "children," and they christened them Mark and Mike. However, as
Dual learned to talk, it quickly became aparent that they shared the same mind. His parents couldn't
cope with the concept that there was only one child. His father came to the conclusion that there were
in fact two children, but one of them had dominated and destroyed the other. He and his wife abandoned
Dual in the German woods. Dual's story would have ended here, if it were not for the Munich circus
passing by. A young Kurt Wagner, also known as the Amazing Nightcrawler, quickly realized what he was,
and convinced the circus to take him in.

He worked in the circus to make his living. First he helped clean and take care of the animals,
but at the early age of five, he joined the show with an amazingly organized juggling act. He moved on
from there to the trappeze by seven, often doing unbelievable stunts with Nightcrawler. At age nine, he
was performing his own stunts in the center ring. Actually he was performing them all over the three
rings, as it was a fantastic sword fight with himself (and several other acrobats at points, but mostly
just him) that took him all over the stage, up onto the trapeeze and finally the high wire. The fight
ends with one self "dying" and cutting the rope in revenge, at which point they both swing safely to the
nets on the side, using the now broken highwire. This was his first poster stunt, and was billed as the
"Dual Swords: An Amazing Sword Battle Between the Fantastic Dual Twins."

Dual enjoyed his carreer, but it always bothered him that his posters refered to him as "The
Dual Twins." He realized early in his life that very few people in the world could really grasp the
concept that he was in fact a single person, but this was now a constant reminder of it. About seven
years ago, at age ten, after a year of being the prime part of the show, he left the circus and traveled
to the states for reasons unknown. It appears that he was seeking out my institution, in hopes of
finding others who could understand him. It was a logical choice, as mutants with telepathic powers
have an easier time relating to his situation, having the ability to see the mental connections fusing
two brains into one mind.

He has studied under myself and my teachers for the past three years, his unusual mind allowing
him to quickly make up for his less than normal childhood education. Although occasionally troublesome,
his super human mind has made him a promising candidate for leadership of the gold team.

Personality:
Dual is quite a handful. His twin brains allow him to focus completely on two different tasks
at the same time, no matter how envoloping each of them is. The downside is that his mental state has
given him a rather limited attention span, and he quickly becomes bored with most entertainment,
particularly if one of his bodies is focused on more important, but less exciting events, such as
schoolwork. The end result is that he often putters around, playing at one thing for a bit, then
switching to another. If both halves of him are on freetime his attention span picks up a bit, but not
much.

Unfortunately, the actions which offer him the most distraction are less than wholesome. Other
than pool, which is a favorite of his,he also favors pranks and dangerous stunts, particularly involving
his motorcycle. The silver lining is that he takes any dangerous situation seriously, and will put all
of his fragmented attention into any risky maneuvers he does, especially in the danger room.

Slightly more troublesome is his occasional bouts of depression. Although partially caused by a
mild chemical disbalance in his brains, I feel the real cause of it is reminders of how many out there
will never understand him. Particularly references to him as two people, twins, or other such comments,
as well as belief that there is a primary or cloned body, will trigger such bouts, especially if from
people he knows. He feels he is destined to be outcast and misunderstood even in mutant circles; a
freak among freaks. I am trying my best to teach him to overcome these feelings, but I fear the damage
has already been done.

Relationships with teachers:
Charles Xavier: While Dual remains an exceptional student, I'm afraid he has become a bit arrogant now
that his telekinetic and telepathic poewrs are under his control. He is a tad too carefree, and while I
sense that he holds me in great respect, I'm afraid he's a bit too forward and casual towards me at
times. He is really eager to learn to use Cerebro, but it isn't equipt to handle him yet.
Incorperating a second headset into Cerebro is more difficult than it seems, and I'm afraid he may think
I am stalling for time.
Scott Summers: Scott and Dual have developed a brotherly relationship and all that it entails. Often
antagonizing towards eachother, the two do share the "gearhead genome," as Scott refers to it. Although
he complains often, Scott is very fond of Dual and is always ready to give him advice.
Jean Gray: Jean has taken very quickly to Daul, being one of the very few who can accept Dual without
hesitation. As one of the first and most outcast students of the Xavier institute, Jean has come to
look at Dual as a symbol of what their fighting for and, although this may be a bit forward of me, as
something of a son. She has taken particular interest in honing his mental abilities, so similar in
nature to her own. At first Dual was a bit put off by Jean's affection, but he has come to accept her
as a mother guardian.
Ororo Monroe: Dual has never shared a particularly close relationship with Ororo. Although he respects
her as a teacher and she treats him fairly as a student, she is a bit too no-nonsense for his taste.
She has taught him much in the danger room and in class rooms, but she has also reprimanded him many
times, so there is always a bit of tension between them.
Hank McCoy: Hank has become something of a mentor to Dual, pushing him in the fields of physics and
mathmatics while finding entertaining ways to challenge his mind. Although not as close as Jean or
Scott, the two still have developed something of a bond, and Dual is one of the first people Hank calls
on for help with experiments, and Dual is one of the first to volunteer.
Remy LeBeau: If there is a sore spot on Dual's teacher-student relationships, it's Remy. Dual finds
Remy's more carefree personality to be a target for pranks and Remy is only too happy to retaliate. His
pool contests with Remy have become showstoppers at the school, and have generated quite a bit of
unauthorized gambling.
