SUMMARY OF CHARACTERS | ||||||||||||||||||||||||

Costiki Belor, better known as Tiki, is a Duros with a light blue complexion and of average build. He dresses nicely yet casual and stands out even among other Duros for his talkative and wise-cracking nature. He seems to really enjoy danger and excitement -- sort of. He's been known to talk to his ship on occasion as well. Once he was a pirate boarding member working for Lord Mardux of the Outer Rim Territories. Lord Mardux was far from kind and actually quite mad, as Tiki gradually came to see. Although nobody would be caught saying something like that to his face. Mardux had turned his group of basically rowdy good old boys into a cut-throat pirate band and Tiki didn't much care for it. Jumping ship at lightspeed in one of his modified YT-1300 freighters, the Brimstone, distinctive for its ruby red coloration, he set off to make his own destiny. Along the way he met up with some silly boy who called himself a learning "Jedi" on Mon Calamari, and together they did some milk runs while avoiding pirate goons and hunters out for revenge on behalf of Mardux (Episode 1: Points of Origin). It was while on Thrix'An 7, a desolate wasteworld not worth really spitting on, that he ran back into an old pal, now bartender Rats. After helping Tiki and Darce deal with some of Mardux's goons, he told them he had a job for them. An easy delivery of weapons for a Rebel cell in the Outer Rim Territories. All they had to do was meet the interested buyer on the forest world of Yelsain in the Minos Cluster. Nice and simple. No complications. Of course, in retrospect Tiki still wonders how much of the Imperial attack on Yelsain was coincidence and how much was Imperial espionage hitting the right mark. Somehow after all the smoke cleared, he and Darce had joined a group of Rebel freedom fighters bound for who knows where (Episode 2: Collision of Wills).

Kyle Renner is a tall, lanky and somewhat awkward-looking fellow with boyish facial features and a nondescript build. Handsome in a cute sort of way, he looks very -- well, harmless. His eyes are pale grey and tend to look just a little sleepy, except when he senses a scheme or potential profit, then they become extremely aware. Kyle was born on the mining moon of Gassymire, a dreary, barely habitable ball of rock orbiting a gas giant in the Mortex sector in the Outer Rim. Gassymire fell under the sway of a twisted theocracy, the Church of the Enlightened, several generations before Kyle was born. The sect, really little more than a totalitarian dictatorship, promised the poor miners of Gassymire salvation and happiness in some vague afterlife. All it really delivered was drudgery, relentless propaganda and drug-induced peace. Kyle was born among the so-called Chosen; those who would serve the religious masters of the world directly. His physical strength and combat abilities earned him a place in the Lord Priest Guard, protectors of the all-important magistrates of Hierarch Lietvan and Reverand Talon. From this position he was able to get an up close look at the "holy" rulers of Gassymire and was sickened by it. Decadent, twisted manipulators, they lived off the sweat, blood, and tears of the people. Naturally a cynic, any scant faith Kyle might have possessed up to that point was shattered. Disgusted, but seeing no way of changing it, Kyle made plans to escape. Making connections with the Way, an underground movement, Kyle leaked valuable information spawning several successful attacks. He was able to escape to Trade City, where spacers lived and dealt, isolated from the natives. He heard of the galaxy off of Gassymire and wanted to see it. Fortune (or something) landed him his chance when he met Haro, a dislocated and strange Rebel pilot looking for a way back to the Rebel Alliance (Episode 1: Points of Origin). The rest was history.

Thanos Alpha is a sleek hybrid of Human and Tagorian woman, engineered by Doctor Karlen Penzium in an Imperial project. Thanos was intended to be the first in a series of living weapons, limited intellectually, deadly, and totally loyal. Tall and graceful, she moves silently, in smooth predatory agility with no wasted motion. Her hair is long and jet black, framing an elegant if feral face. Her eyes are piercing emerald and slitted like a cat's, and her ears come to points but are covered with her hair which forms a mane that runs down her back to a long furred tail. At heart she is a creature of instinct, a highly intelligent animal much like a young human child, making simple black and white judgements based upon her experiences. Her Imperial Masters were cruel and caused pain, and thus were bad. Her friends are kind to her and are good. Yet underlying this seeming simplicity is more. Her primary caretaker while in training was a kind man, Edreth Karn, who came to learn that she was mentally developing beyond the simple killing machine the Empire desired. He taught her and kept her actual intelligence a secret. After a battery of physically draining tests, he challenged the Imperial director's order to begin a brutal series of combat tests, realizing that she would be incapable of withstanding it. While Thanos watched, Edreth argued for her life, even getting struck for impudence. Moved by his act of sacrifice, she had a new goal to push herself for -- to win for Edreth. Despite the incredible pain and fatigue, she pushed through it. The final experiment was to be an actual field test on the forested world of Yelsain in an insignificant Outer Rim sector: the Minos Cluster. On the eve of the mission, and the last time Thanos would see him, Edreth told her he knew she would do the right thing. This confused her until the mission began. The actual mission was one of cruel subjugation, killing Yelsainian civilians. Thanos could not ignore the wrongness. The civilians had done nothing bad to her, only bad to the Masters, who brought her only pain. While the Masters hurt and were cruel, she saw the Yelsainians sacrificing themselves for others while the Masters killed them. Then she understood, instinctively and totally: the right thing to do was to stop it. Fighting the pain of her control collar, she killed her overseer and guards. Then to the surprise of the Masters, her collar suddenly burned out when they attempted to activate it -- a final gift from Edreth. Thanos fled, killing Masters along the way. It was in this engagement that she met a group of strangers, who took her in after the battle and eventually became her friends and her family (Episode 2: Collision of Wills).

Damien is a human bounty hunter hailing from the far-off world of Tatooine. He currently is 40 standard years old, standing at 6'3" and weighing around 210 pounds. He has green eyes and his unkept, black hair and unshaven face lends to his rough appearance. As a youth and recently orphaned, he joined a local gang to try and find a place to fit in. Being one of the more combative members of the group, he had his share of brawls, melee and gun fights, but always managed to come out alive. Seeing that this was not fulfilling his needs any longer, he joined the Imperial Army and worked his way up to the rank of sergeant before becoming disillusioned once again by the company he was keeping. He resigned his position and sought to use the skills he had been taught by becoming a bounty hunter. Now he felt he would be able to make a difference while at the same time turning over a profit. At the beginning, the majority of his contracts were offered by the Empire due to his previous ties with them. He sometimes supplemented his hunting career with various short-term jobs, usually as security hired by various ship crews. He had a moderately successful capture percentage, but his last hunt came to a dead end as he realized the information a source had provided him was inaccurate. Sitting at a bar at Lord Mardux's pirate asteroid base in the Pumajari system, he spotted an old friend from years gone by -- Korkeal Hai, pilot and owner of the Riff Raff. She convinced him to join their group when they made their escape attempt from Lord Mardux (Episode 8: Welcome to Pumajari). Damien realized that this was probably the best thing for him to pursue at the time. He went from holding the rank of sergeant in the Imperial Army to soon having the rank of lieutenant in the Rebel Alliance...but most importantly, he had found a home and a family.

Darce Sustar is a human male with green eyes and sandy brown hair. He is 21 years old, weighs 170 pounds, and is 1.8 meters tall. Darce has a somewhat timid look to him but underneath it is a strong will and greater strength than his appearance gives. Darce commonly wears maroon robes, but usually wears his maroon flight suit that is now somewhat patched up. He carries a scout blaster and the lightsaber left for him by his father, Trent Sustar. Before Darce was born, Trent Sustar was a Jedi knight with many accomplishments and quiet fame. While assisting settlers against Tusken raiders on Tatooine he met Celeste, a moisture farmer's daughter, and they fell in love. Trent left the desert world with Celeste and while enroute to Isen, Darce was born. Darce was one year old when his father began uprooting the Nalroni black market. After a three year endeavor, something tragic happened. A bounty hunter, seeking Trent, sneaked into their home while Trent was away. Discovered, the hunter attacked Celeste and Darce. Celeste got her son safely away but at the cost of her own life. When Trent arrived he was too late to save her but was able to save Darce. He left Celanon with Darce, seeking a remote place from the Empire as it was becoming abundantly clear that his fellow knights were being exterminated by the New Order. Darce was five years old when they arrived on Mon Calamari and were welcomed with open arms by the native people. Unfortunately it was no long after their arrival that the Empire came to claim control of the planet. Trent and Darce hid with the help of a native, Gliben, in Reef City. Despite the peaceful but determinedly independent overtures of the Calamarians, the Empire made their aims clear by ruthlessly bombarding cities into submission. Trent, unable to sit by and watch, helped organize resistance to the Empire whilc Gliben watched after Darce. Over the next several years, Trent helped to chase the Empire from Mon Calamari. Darce learned about the Force during this time as well. Then when Darce was 15, his father left with another man on important business elsewhere. Only years later would Darce learn that his father journeyed to Fevria. At the age of 18, Darce was actively helping the Calamarians rid their world of the Empire once and for all when Imperial forces made one last assault. Darce and his Mon Cal friends were piloting a re-supply shuttle between the planet and orbital stations when the shuttle was shot down and all were forced to abandon ship in the middle of the ocean. Darce was also forced to make a terrible decision as the ship sank. His friend, Melac, had his leg caught in debris and could not break free while water was rushing in. Darce had to cut Melac free by using his lightsaber to cut Melac's leg off. Darce was shunned by his friends and withdrew from them. Melac had an artificial leg replacement. Darce did not know it until years later, but Melac did not harbor ill feelings for Darce. Darce decided to leave Mon Calamari. That was when, on board an orbital station, he saw a Duros being assaulted by several rough-looking men. He wasn't sure, but he thought one of them looked very much like one of the men who had hunted his father after leaving Celanon. Coming to the aid of the Duros, who turned out to be Costiki Belor, or Tiki for short, they chasted the rogues off and Tiki took Darce on as his gunner and co-pilot (Episode 1: Points of Origin). Recently, Darce has been forced into leadership positions that he has not been comfortable with, but he feels he is doing what he must to find justice in the galaxy. He strives, in his own quiet, thoughtful way, to become a Jedi like the father he remembers. |
