The people at Random Factors had heard from this band, who had asked for permission to use "The Pict Song" (words: Rudyard Kipling, music: Leslie Fish) on their first album. After the album came out, the people at Random contacted me, saying I should check them out. I did. To say the least, their first album is really good. The members of the band have a good interaction between each other. Their harmonizations are crisp. They're also a nice group of guys, lemme tell ya.
The first CD is now out of print. Turns out I had the last copy for sale, and the band members told me I should hold on to it for myself. So,, if you want an Emerald Rose CD, I have available "Bending Tradition," "Fire in the Head," (a live album), "Celtic Crescent," a multimedia CD called "Songs for the Night Sky", "Archive of Ages to Come" and their newest, "Con Suite," an homage to the science fiction fans. "Rants and Rambles" has become available again. Am working on getting it.
Unless you take a look at the album while listening to it, or you are very well-versed in Celtic music, you wouldn't be able to tell which songs were traditional, which were Celtic, which were written by the group. Maybe that's the best way to put it. They're good.
The regular CDs each cost $15.00. The multimedia CD is $20.00.
