COPENHAGEN (Reuters) - Two drunken Danish sailors who played dodgems in a car dealer's lot were trapped by the lingering smell of fish, shipping weekly Soefart reported on Friday.
The two, who had spent shore leave from their fishing boat at a pub in the southwest English port of Sharpness, climbed the fence of the lot, picked a car each and drove around, hitting 31 vehicles and causing damage estimated at $645,000.
The unnamed pair, aged 17 and 19, left the area without being spotted, but the whiff of fish in the cars led police to the fishing vessel Herman C. Boye.
A local court sentenced the men to six and eight months in prison, Soefart said |
