Penance

Name: Umm....it used to be Nicole and Claudette, but not anymore. It was Monet before that. Err....

Powers: Penance's entire body is diamond hard. She is incredibly tough and heavy, and pocesses razor sharp claws which can slice through nearly anything. This severly limited her contact to the outside world, as she could easily hurt a normal human.

First appearance: Generation X #1.

Friends: Jubilee, Chamber, Generation X.

Enemies: Emplate, Black Tom Cassidy (who she killed by slicing off his head. Ick.)

Fact: Penance may be deaf.

Favorite quote: Penance is also mute.

Least favorite story: Larry Hama's horrendous 'origin of Penance'. It established Penance was the real Monet, with her younger siblings pretending to be her, until they took over the Penance body -- ugh. I still don't understand that dreck, and this is coming from a person who thinks Cable's origin really isn't as complicated as everyone makes it out to be!

Favorite storyline: Jay Faerber's recent attempts to retcon and fix that Hama crap -- it may not be perfect, but at least he's trying, and Penny has regained some of her mystery and coolness.

Where can she be seen?: Currently in Generation X.
