Name: Rachel 'Ray' Summers

Alias: Phoenix 2. Also the Mother Askanii, the Phoenix Avatar. Galactus referred to her as the 'Starchilde'. A former Hound.

First appearance: Uncanny X-Men #141

Friends: Kitty Pryde, Blaquesmith, Cable, Franklin Richards (Days of Future Past version).

Enemies: The Warwolves, Sentinels, Apocalypse, Selene, Spiral and Mojo, Ahab.

Powers: Telepathy, telekinesis, and temporal (time) travel. All these powers were enhanced by her link to the Phoenix Force, which enabled her to fly and breathe in space, shoot power blasts, and fly at warp speeds outside of planetary orbit.

Jean and Scott Summers (alternate timeline Dark Phoenix and Cyclops, parents), Alex Summers (Havok, uncle), Nathan Summers (brother, Cable), Stryfe (Cable's clone, her brother), Nate Grey (Cable's counterpart from AoA, brother), Scotty Summers (son of Mutant X Maddy Pryor and Havok, cousin), Tyler Summers (Cable's son, nephew), Madelyne Pryor (clone of Jean Grey, genetic mother, ex-wife to Cyclops), Franklin Richards (alternate timeline husband), Reed and Sue Richards (alternate timeline parents-in-law), Jonathan Reed Richards (Hyperstorm, alternate timeline son), Bane Jacobs-Grey (X-Man's son, her nephew), Adam X (half-brother to Cyclops and Havok, uncle). Whew. I think that about covers the gist of it!

Favorite storyline: Excalibur #67-68, where Rachel journeys back to her own time to set things right. This was the conclusion to one of the X-Men's longest and most popular storylines, Days of Future Past.

Least favorite storyline: Back to the future for good! Runner up is Wolverine stabbing her through the gut to stop her from killing Selene, who really deserved it. She got back at him by flinging him in front of a train later.

Where can she be seen?: Ray was recently seen in two separate mini-series, one co-starring Kitty Pryde called 'True Friends', and another detailing her quest in the future to form the Askanii clan to oppose Apocalypse. Also, Rachel is returning very shortly to the pages of Cable! After his future got wiped out, the version of Rachel called the Mother Askanii is but a ghost. Now the true Phoenix 2 has returned!
