The Warren

"For Brandon," by Rey Velazquez

I dreamed about you again last night,
of the wonderful times we spent together,
about our friendship that somehow became more.

I remember the day that we parted forever,
leaving you without saying a word,
not wanting to realize that we would never be together again.

I regret moving on without you that day
letting what we had slip through my fingertips
only to be relived inside the lonely corridors of my mind.

I wish you were here with me,
recalling all the laughter we once shared,
thinking about the evenings we spent alone underneath the stars.

I want you to know that I still love you,
thinking about that night we spent to gether
talking about the things that we felt for one another.

I wish you the best, my wonderful friend
my love to the one that shall never die
as long as I remember you, dear friend.
