This rare blood ability only manifests
in those scions that take up the practice of true magic. This power makes
the wizard much more potent with certain types of spells when compared
to wizards without this power. Each derivation has its own type of spell
that are effected by this power, but the effects are the same. Any spell
that is cast by the wizard that is of the type appropriate to his derivation
is modified thus: Any applicable save is made at -1 (cumulative with the
specialist wizard bonus, if applicable), any damage done by the spell is
increased by +1 hp per die, and non-damaging spells that effect only the
wizard have their duration doubled. The types of spell effected by each
derivation are as follows: Azrai: necromancy, Anduiras: enchantment/charm,
Basaia: fire and light based spells, Brenna: alteration, Masela: water
based spells, Reynir: Cold based spells, Vorynn: invocation/evocation spells.
Note that this power is always in effect
every time the character casts a spell of the appropriate type.
