The Avenger is a man driven by greed, the ultimate epitome of revenge, lust and evil deprivation. He lives on to see those who once shunned him are dead, and to see the death of the Azrai bloodline in all others but himself. As a young man, he had courted a young baroness, who seemed indifferent to his charms. However, he soon won her heart, and preposed marriage. She accepted, but feared his dark blood even though he was a faithful paladin of Haelyn. He placated her however, and they married the selfsame day. As he clasped her hands, to then consumate the marriage, something within him awakened, and his wife shrank from his touch. She screamed once, tearing at the young man's soul even to this day, and then died in a vile rotting pool of decay.
His bride's father arrived soon after to see the Avenger lying beside the
pool, and screamed vengeance. The Avenger slew him. From that day, the
man swore revenge on his evil sires, to exterminate the line of Azrai forever.
However, as a consequence of his dark deed in slaying his father in law,
he was excommunicated and was to be hung for murder. He escaped by slaying
the guards with his bare hands, then escaped into the Siewolde. He has
only been seen a few times since.
The Avenger no longer has the look of a man. His skin is bare of all hair, and his dark eyes look coldy distant, never showing emotion or compassion. The once pale skin has darkened to a dusky brown and his form has become more and more stooped over time.
The Avenger carries a suit of Field Plate + 1 and a Medium Shield +
2.
He also has a Broad Sword + 2 which he calls 'Vengeance'
