The Shifter is a rather peculiar character. She was once a human, though 'blessed' with the blood of Azrai. Her name was Lady Aubrae Telfin, the youngest daughter of a merchant. With very little to look forward to in life, she was relegated to one of her father's smaller estates, where she would wait for a suitable suitor. However, she soon bored of the country life and became an adventurer, with a band of warriors.
One night, however, her party was ambushed by an Goblin raiding party. Most of her friends were killed in the raid, however she survived to slay the leader of the raiders, the son of the Goblin King Graecher.
Her magic dagger pierced the Prince through the heart, and as his life blood spilt out, she could feel the dagger drinking the life from him, and channeling it into her.
From that day forth, she has used her unusual ability to Alter her appearance and her magic dagger, to steal the blood of scions. Her taste for blood is unsatiable.
Her ability to change shape is quite peculiar. Stronger than the usual ability to Alter Appearance, her ability allows her to change into any human form that she sees (not illusionary) for as long as she wishes.
Her dagger, which she calls The Drinker, drains blood doing 1d4 + 1d8 points of damage, the 1d8 points going towards her total. It has the added bonus of stealing 1/5th of a bloodline, should it strike a deathblow to the heart.
