Morgantown Community Earth Day

April 24, 2004

We will be doing clean up of litter and raffle benefiting the Nature Conservancy of Pennsylvania.

I have also just found out that the same day is PennDOT’s Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful Day and
they have agreed to donate clean up supplies for the event.  THANK YOU PENNDOT!

My name is Shannon Gansner and I am a resident of Morgantown.  I am trying to gather support for an Earth Day clean up in our area on April 24th, 2004.

Instead of doing an organized roadside clean up, which presents many safety hazards, we’ll be doing the Clock Tower Plaza.  Coming up the drive from I-176 you can see a lot of litter, and then going behind the building is an awful sight. This let’s us all meet in one spot, and other than cars in the parking lot, we do not have to worry about traffic.  The property owner has given us permission to also use the dumpsters to throw away the trash.

If you have any questions, e-mail me.

I have set up this website to keep any interested parties updated on latest details for the event.

We’ve gotten a bunch of local businesses to donate for the raffle/Door Prizes.  Thank you to the following businesses and more to come:

Curves for Women - 1 month free membership
Nuse’s Deli - Buy one large pizza get second free (Door Prize)
Clair’s Family Restaurant – 2 $10 gift certificate (One for Door Prize)
Antonio’s Pizza - $15 Gift Certificate
Morgantown Hotel Bar and Grill - $10 Gift Certificate
El Video – total of 5 free rentals and 5 free kids cones

Please help them support us by visiting their establishments.

Raffle tickets will be $1 for 1 or $5 for 6.  E-mail me at skle@ptdprolog.net
if you would like to purchase or sell tickets.

Prizes will be raffled off after the event.  You will not need to be present to win the raffle, however, to win door prizes you must be present at the event. Both Raffle tickets and Door prize tickets will be available at the clean up.  If April 24th is rained out, the raffle will still take place.
