In the second half of "Becoming" Xander spends a good majority of his time in the hospital with Willow, who is in a coma. When faced with the possibility that Willow may never again wake up, Xander becomes extremely emotional. As he lies next to her bed, holding her hand, he begins to tell her how much he misses her, and how much he needs her. Then, he says the magic words that ultimately reanimate her. "I love you, Willow." (isn't that sweet) This seems to bring her back to life, awakening her from the coma. Later on, Willow decides to once more attempt the curse that would restore Angel's soul. She asks Xander to go tell Buffy and warn her, so that she can stall for time instead of killing Angel. However, when Xander finds Buffy he doesn't tell her that Willow is going to conduct the curse. It seems for a minute as though he is going to, but he changes his mind, and instead tells Buffy to take Angel down. (Is anyone besides me, upset about how he lied? 'Cuz, personally, I am a bit ticked off at Xander right now!) As Buffy and Angel begin to fight, Xander sneaks into the room where Giles is being held and helps him escape. When we last see Xander he is standing in front of the school with Giles, Cordelia, Willow, and Oz; waiting for Buffy to show up for school. He suggests to Willow that maybe the curse was too late and Buffy had to kill Angel anyway. It seemed to me that he was feeling a little guilty, which is a good thing, he should feel guilty!!
