You can find various cool and interesting things in SCREAM 2 and here's where you can find them. You are suer to get a good read out of them all!

References

•In the opening scene of Scream 2, a giant hand holding a knife is hanging on the marquee making stabbing motions and sounds. This is a reference to the VHS cover of John Carpenters' Halloween (1978), where you see a giant knife as well.

•Mrs. Loomis is a Mrs. Voorhees reference all the way through. Just before the first death in Scream 2, she is standing in the cubicle talking to "Billy" (the clearest line is "Help me Mommy" just before she stabs him). And her motives are the same.

•When Hallie is looking through her closet, a striped green and red sweater is hanging on the door that resembles Freddy Krueger's sweater in the Nightmare on Elm Street series.

•The NBC TV Show "Friends" is made fun of two times durring the movie when the mention Gale's head being put on the 'nude' Jennifer Anston's body on the internet and when they mention David Schwimmer playing Dewey in the movie within a movie "STAB".

•Schwimmer happens to be one of the stars of Friends (1994), a show in which David Arquette made a guest appearance on.

•Cici talks about an episode of Party of Five (Fox) while on the phone with her friend, which happens to be the show Neve Campbell stars in. (It was about when Sarah-Jennifer Love Hewitt's[who also was in I know what you did last Summer with Gellar] Character- and Baliey broke up).

•Cici is flipping through channels and comes across Nosferatu, ein Symphonie des Grauens (1922).

•When on the phone and things get creepy at the sorority house--Cici's friend imitates the theme from the Friday the 13th series "Chi-chi-chi--hahaha".

•When Randy points out the suspects to Dewey, he mentions Mrs. Vorhees from Friday the 13th (1980) and Candyman (1992).

•When Gale arrives at the Omega Beta Zeta house, Joel mentions Faces of Death (1978).

•Randy mentions Final Exam (1981), Graduation Day (1981) and Splatter University (1984), The House on Sorority Row (1983) and The Dorm That Dripped Blood (1970) while talking with the killer on the phone.

•In response to the killer's question, Randy proclaims Showgirls (1995) was his favorite scary movie since it was "absolutely frightening".

•At the end before Mickey shoots Derek he taunts Sid by saying "Boyfriend, killer, boyfriend, killer!" Well that was also said in the movie CopyCat. Which is kind of ironic considering Mickey was a copycat killer. (Thanks to Kristy for pointing this out to me)

Appearances/Cameos

•One of those who passed on the opurtunity to be in the first Scream but jumped at the chance to play opposite his son (David "Dewey Riley") in the sequel was Lewis Arquette. Like David, Lewis has taken the role of a police officer, Chief Hartley.

•Screenwriter Kevin Williamson makes an appearance as the Current Edition talk show host who interviews Cotton Weary.

•During production of Scream 2, Wes Craven received countless letters begging to know if Skeet Ulrich and Matthew Lillard were going to be in Scream 2. Although he said that they wouldn't be back as Billy or Stu, it didn't stop Matt from making a quick appearance at the sorority party sequence!

•Joshua Jackson, who stars in Kevin Williamson's TV-show Dawson's Creek (The WB Network), makes an appearance in Randy's film class.

•Wes Craven (wearing glasses) plays a doctor in the background while Detective Andrews is talking at the hospital.

Mess-Ups

•When the Killer stabs Dewey, and he is bashed against the window, there is blood smeared all over the window. Now, when Gale pushes the tape shelves in front of the door, and the Killer is trying to break the window, the blood is gone.

•Sid enters the detective's car on the driver's side after Hallie, but is later seen sitting on the opposite side of the back seat.

•When one of the detectives is thrown into the car window. His blood is there, and then it is gone just like with the case when Dewey was hurt again!

Fact or Fiction?

Here are all the rumors off my rumors section and now you can find out if I was right or wrong with the rumors I put on my site!

•Liev Screiber (Cotton Weary) has been reported to be contracted to recieve $200,000 to play the villian in the Sequel to Scream!!

FACT--kinda
While not the villian villiasn of the movie, he did play a villianish type character. He was Sid's enemy throughout most of the movie.

•Kevin Williamson's screenplay for "The Sequel to Scream" has been very secret. "The script was printed on James Bondish paper you can't Xerox.

FACT
Kevin Williamson's Scream 2 script has been top-secret. "We got our scripts. They were burgundy with a black line through them," Neve Campbell explains. "You can't even read them really." Her co-star Jerry O'Connell described the script as "James Bondish paper you can't Xerox." And to keep it that way, the cast members signed waivers holding them liable if they leaked sensitive information to the media. It was like a contract for several million dollars they had to pay if they said anything vital about the film. The last ten pages of the script - printed on copyproof, faxproof, scanproof paper - weren't given to the cast until the final two days of filming! And most of the script wasn't even givin out in order are big bunches at a time. Duane Martin only recieved 1 peice of paper to read for his first day of shooting.

•Because of the success of the first "Scream", the sequel will have a more impressive soundtrack including a riff from the Smashing Pumpkins.

FICTION
The Pumpkins were in fact not on the Soundtrack and I was quite dissapointed. But there were mega famous bands like the Dave Matthews Band, Tonic, Everclear, Coulective Soul and The Foo Fighters much unlike the first soundtrack who had mostly unknown bands.

•The new Ghostface mask has bloodstains and looks even more evil.

FICTION
I dont know where in the world this came from because the ghostface mask was the same as the first-the only thing different about it was the people underneath it.

•Jada Pinkett's character (Maureen Evans) will be in the opening scene and will pull off a 'Drew Barrymore' (Casey Becker from SCREAM -in other words, she's gonna get iced). These celeb-killing kickoffs is going to be a franchise trademark.

FACT
Jada did pull off a quick but thrilling opening scene in a movie theater along with her boyfrind Phil. Although she has a cheesy final ending I thought it was creepy.

•Sidney (Neve Campbell) is a freshman in college, and another killer is after her. We know that she as joined a sorority and is taking theater in hopes to become an actress.

FACT
That was all true except for she didn't join the sorority. She was being presueded to join the sorority her new bestfriend/room mate was pledging.

•Deputy Dewey (David Arquette) will play a security guard at Sidney's college, while Randy (Jamie Kennedy) will play Gale Weathers' (Courteney Cox) camera man/assistant.

FICTION
Both completly WRONG! Oh-well. Dewey is still a police officer-but he just shows up at Sid's college one day after finding out about the new murders. Randy is one of Sid's class mates studying film, not Gales camera man.

•Elise Neal will play Sidney's roommate or cousin and Sarah Michelle Gellar (Helen) will either play Sidney's other roommate or a sorority sister at Sidney's college.

FACT--kinda=)
Elise Neal did play Hallie, Sid's room mate and Sarah Michelle Gelllar did play a sorority girl Cici.

•Chris Haynes, a low-budget actor-director from the unknown Trip From Hell trilogy is set to play a nerd who wants desperately to be Sidney's boyfriend and is who Sidney fears is stalking her.

FICTION
This rumor just came outta no where! There is no truth to this at all!

•Matt Murphy is apparently playing Stu's younger brother in Scream 2!

FICTION
Again, this one just came outta no where.

•Wes Craven has confirmed that Matthew Lillard (Stu) nor Skeet Ulrich (Billy) will appear in "The Sequel to Scream.

FACT
While the characters Billy and Stu didn't come back--Matt Lilliard DID make a cameo in the background scene at a sorority party Sidney attends with her friends.

•There are tons of rumors going around saying that Rose McGowan(Tatum) will have a cameo roll in Scream 2. Where? Well sources have told me many different ways she will be appearing. i.e. she will come back-but only in flashbacks, she will be seen as just an xtra in the background, or a girl seen in the library, but this is a majorly unconfirmed rumor!

FICTION
I did not notice it myself but I also haven't been looking either. It has been said though that a girl in the library looks like her though.

•During Scream 2, Gale Weathers (Courtney Cox), writes a book called Stab, which has become a movie when Sidney (Neve Campbell) is in college. And guess who is playing Sidney in the movie, non other than, Tori Spelling (Beverly Hills 90210). Yes, after that line, "With my luck, I'd get Tori Spelling", Craven thought of the idea.

FACT
Yep, Gale did write a book, although not called Stab it was called The Woodsboro Murders and was in the film. And yes, Tori did have a short cameo role as Sidney and herself in the movie.

•The Rialto Theater in South Pasadena, California was the setting for the premiere of "Stab" Gale Weathers movie. Don't get confused by this. The characters in "The Sequel to Scream" are the only ones attending this premiere. Decorating the front of the theater were Father Death costumes. And mounted on the marquee was a sign saying Sneak Preview Tonight Only: "Stab" and a huge hand holding a bloody knife, making stabbing motions and sounds. This could be a reference to "Halloween".

FACT
Yep, that all was in the movie. That was a very good leak before the movie premiered!

•The movie "Stab" is directed by Robert Rodriguez.

????
I dont actually know. I didn't catch it-but I'll look next time I go see the movie.

•Rumor has it that in the movie "STAB" Sharon Stone will cameo as Maureen Prescott and Johnny Depp will cameo as Billy Loomis.

FICTION
False, False, False. Neither Sharon or Johnny were in the film or mentioned as playing any characters.

•Apparantley, Scream 2 has filmed a scene at UCLA (the college Sidney is going to). In this scene was Courteney Cox (Gale Weathers) and David Arquette (Dewey Riley). Deputy Dewey was burned, bloody and missing a shoe and was being carried out of a building on a gurney by paramedics. Gale Weathers attempts to talk to Dewey to get the inside scoop.

FICTION
While not burned and Gale wasn't trying to get the scoop--Dewey was carried out on a gurney and Gale did rush over to the ambulance.

•Sidney (Neve Campbell) and Gale (Courteney Cox) continue their never-ending feud in the sequel. To support that, there is a 'BAM! Bitch went down' sequence(in other words, Gale is gonna get knocked out by Sidney)!

FACT
Yep! Gale and Sid for most of the movie were rival's again because of Gale's money hungry attitude. And when Gale shows up on Sid's campus with Cotton Weary in tote Sid punches her yet again!=)

•Dewey Riley (David Arquette) has a severe limp from a severed nerve, and can't really use his right hand very much. But he has a big role, and his love affair with Gale grows.

FACT
All thats true. Even though Gale and Dewey are feuding at the start of the film--they have quite a steamy scene!=) But as far as I could tell though, there was nothing wrong with Dewey's hand.

•Randy (Jamie Kennedy) will be killed in Scream 2, in the theater where Sidney (Neve Campbell) practices for college. He will be hung from the rafters...

FICTION
Although Randy does die (*sniff* *sniff*) he dies in Joel's news van-not hung from the rafters. Someone else is though.

•Helen (Sarah Michelle Gellar) will be dead by the end of Scream 2, but she did get to throw a few pots at the killer before she bites it.

FACT
Yep-all true. And she does throw a potted plant at the killer!

•Mike informed me that Hallie (Elise Neal) is cut in half when the killer puts her in a elevator and presses the up button!

FICTION
Mike was wrong. Hallie dies at the hands of ghostface on the street after a car accident.

• Hallie (Elise Neil) may be killed by electricution in Scream 2, I saw this in the trailer-but it may just be part of the elevator scene.

FICTION
That was "Debbie" falling in the trailer, not Hallie getting electricuted.

•The sequel has a higher body count than its previous movie.

FACT
Yep! It does! There are several more people killed in Scream 2!

•A little birdy (Tweety) told me that she heard both Wes and Kevin have cameos in Scream 2!

FACT
That was right also! Both men do have cameo appearances!

•The phrase "sequels suck" is said to be heard eight times throughout the film.

FACT
While I dont know if its in fact eight times--that phrase is said several times.

•Kevin Williamson's 'Scream 3' may not have its original stars back for the next 'scream'.

FACT
Nope--not all of them. But only Randy was killed off.

Here are all the pictures I had on my Unknown Pictures page where I just guessed on who the characters might be. Now you can find out if I was right or wrong in my guesses.

The new sheriff?
Well...Not Actually
He is the Cheif at the force.

The drama teacher?
Right!
Yep-maybe not exactly the drama teacher-he is the
director of the play and thats usually the drama teacher.

The dean of Sid's college?
Wrong!
He is one of Sid's body gaurds.
But he looks like he could be a dean!

A sorority sister?
Nope!
She was just a girl featured in the dinning hall.

Scream/Scream2

•Scream 2 makes fun of the first Scream when Gale Weathers writes a book based on the events in Woodsboro and turns it into a movie called Stab!.

•"With my luck," Sidney says at one point in Scream about who would play her in a movie, "They'd cast Tori Spelling." Leave it to those irony-drenched Scream makers, Spelling does play Sidney in film based on the events called Stab.

•Cotton's interrogation and Sid in the police station reminds us of Billy and Sid in Scream.

•Both times Dewey was close to scoring with Gale, she found some disturbing revelation. (Scream-Mr. Prescott's Car and Scream2-The Killer in the room)

•As revealed in the movie, the victims Maureen Evans, Phil Stevens, and CiCi (Casey) Cooper, had strikingly similar names to Maureen Prescott, Steve Orth, and Casey Becker for more irony to why the killers are killing certain people.

•Cotton was arrested and released again.

•Dewey was being put in the back of an ambulance again. But this time Gale goes with him=)

•Pepsico is predominant in both movies. In Scream they buy Tostitos, the camera man eats Ruffles, Baked Tostitos, Cheetos (even waves them in front of the camera), at the party one of the guys gets up and grabs a bag of Doritos. By the way Pepisco owns Frito Lay which makes all those products. In Scream 2 all you see in the cafeteria scene is pepsi products.

Did You Know?
Basically Facts that weren't mentioned as Rumors before on my site.

•Sidney finally gets caller ID which we see at the beging of the movie when a certain Cory calls Sidney to get his kicks-but when Sid whips out the caller ID and tells him whats up-he hangs up quickly=)

•The sequel to Scream sparked a feeding frenzy among Hollywood agents, all of whom were itching to get their rising stars the same hip exposure the youthful teens garnered in the first Scream. According to a Miramax source, Natasha Wagner (Lost Highway), Eric Mabius (Welcome to the Dollhouse) and Paula Marshall (Chicago Sons) were among the stars who tried to join the cast but didn't make the cut.

•Courtney Cox (Gale Weathers) as stated she got streap troat twice while filming because she had to scream so much.

•Do note that the phrase "sequels suck" is heard throughout the film, dishing out all the self-parody of horror sequels. "So, of course, the big discussions in [Randyy's drama] class are whether sequels are bullshit or not," says Wes Craven. Films that were mentioned during this sequence were The Godfather Part II (1974), Aliens (1986), Star Wars (1977), The Empire Strikes Back (1980), The Terminator (1984) and T2: Judgement Day (1991).

•The film's title is almost as much of a mystery as its plot. "At times we've called it Scream Louder and Scream Again," says director Wes Craven. "But it's been going so fast, we haven't had a chance to name it." The most common title the sequel to Scream had been refered to was Scream: The Sequel. But in October '97, it was announced that the official title for the film was Scream 2.

•Since filming much of Scream 2 in Atlanta, Georgia, Arquette has made return trips with his band, Ear2000 who happened to contribute a song - "The Race" - to the Scream 2 soundtrack. "We've done like three of our six shows there," Arquette said. "It's really a great town."

•Scream 2 takes place at a fictional midwestern college called Windsor. But actually, filming took place at Atlanta's Agnes Scott College and Emory College. And many of the college students who attended the universitys contributed to Scream 2 by being extras. Even though the extras were told not to speak to the stars, it didn't stop the stars from speaking to them. "They were pretty cool," says one extra. "David Arquette was the coolest one. He bought me a beer." And it was also stated that the set was quite fun-that David Arquette also ran onto the set one day and dropped his pants!

•Windsor Collage was probably supposed to be set in Ohio because all of the police cars have Ohio plates, and the guy who prank called Sid in the begining of the movie was Cory Gillis at 513-555-0176. "513" being an Ohio area code.

•Maureen ordered a medium popcorn and a small Diet Pepsi, but received a huge tub of popcorn and a gigantic drink, this wasn't in fact a mess-up but an intentional joke about movie theaters always having big stuff.

•The close-up of this scene required only four takes. When Neve picked up the phone during filming she was really hearing the actor's voice on the line. This helped make her reaction more real.

•The three sororities/frats featured in Scream 2 are Delta Lambda Zeta, Omega Beta Zeta, and Omega Kappa Beta.

•Gale's new national TV show is "Up to Date". Her previous was "Top Story"

•If you listen closely at the end of the film, a paramedic explains that Dewey survived because he was stabbed in his old scar tissue. Pretty ironic hunh?

Non-Movie Facts

•David Arquette played in the Movie "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and now Sarah Michelle Gellar plays in the TV version.

•On the TV show "Friends" Courtney Cox's character's last name is Gellar and so is Sarah Michelle's in real life.

•Jada Pinkett might have been in the very early stages of pregnancy durring the filming of Scream 2.

•Cici was Courtney Cox(Gale Weathers)'s nickname as a child and is used as Sarah Michelle Gellar's Character's nick-name as well in the movie.
