COME MEET THE DEAD OF NIGHT
I first saw Night Breed at a friends house while she was gone for a few hours to a class at
her college. She loved the movie and when she told me about it and recommend it to me I
jumped at the chance to watch it while I waited for her to get back. It is a wonderfully
written story and its so true its scary!
I really wouldn't really call it horror-although there are some scary scenes in it-its more of
a thriller/fantasy/mystery movie, but none-the-less it deserves to be here.
The story revolves around a place called Midian, where the monsters live-but these monsters are beautiful all-in one way...granted there are some that are quite hideous but their history makes you feel sorry for them.
Shuna Sassi-the most beautiful monster
I've ever seen. She looks like a porcupine
and throws needles from her back which can kill you.
Rachel-the woman who can turn into mist.
Narcisse-Always telling jokes and being silly.
And he looks better with half his head missing
than what he did before he tried to reveal his other face.
Peloquin-This is one monster I would do.
But not when 'the beast' comes out...I guess its just
that deep, breathy, seductive voice=)
Boone-The hero of the movie.
This movie gets you to relate to the monsters--get to know them like you are one of
them.
If you haven't seen this movie-I dont want to spoil any of it for you...
but this line of the movie is my favorite, and I'll leave you with this:
"To be able to fly? To be smoke,
or a wolf...
to know the night,
and live in it forever?
That's not so bad.
You call us monsters.
But when you dream it's of
flying,
and changing,
and living without death."
