Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare is another one of the better ones. I remember when it
came out in theaters my mom wouldn't let me go see it. Geez, I wasn't even 10 I think, but
she did let me see it when it came on pay-per-view on cable. I taped it and watched it
several times in a week. It was one of my first faves. Later on I taped over it, I dont
remember what, but I was a kid so it couldn't have been too important, but with all the
memories I have about it, its one of my faves. The whole Nightmare series isn't all that bad
at all actually. I dont know why people dont like sequels, I think some are just as good if
not better and plus you get to know more about these psycho killers and I think in the
"Final Nightmare" we learn the most about Freddy.
We get taken back to the past when Freddy was still alive and we meet his wife and little
girl. Freddy had started his killing spree of young
children and one day while Fred was
out back playing with his little girl, Katherine, his wife found the room where he kept his
various weapons and learned of what he was doing. After telling Katherine to go in and
play inside, he killed her mother and after Fred was killed, the daughter went into an
orphanage and was later adopted. And since she was so young when she found out about
her dad, she had no recollection of it when she became an adult. This is all I will say about
this movie because its one of the absolute best and has an excellent story. It also has guest
appearances by Roseannne and Tom Arnold when they were still married and Alice
Cooper as
Fred's step-dad. It all makes for a great movie worth renting!
