Pet Sematary

Pet Sematary is also a book written by Stephen King and it was the second horror movie I'd ever seen. Of course it was at an overnight part at a friends house and we watched it while vegging out. The next school day on the playground for some strange reason I kept imitating the mother when she is crying out "GET THE BABY!!! GET THE BABY!!!!" And it also inspired me to make my own little Pet Sematary (remember, I was only 8 or 9!) and bury the dead squirrels and birds around my neighborhood...my mother and other family members started to call me morbid then...do I look like a morbid person?=)

It starts out with the Creed's arriving to their home which is right on a street where trucks go by day and night at fast speeds. They meet their neighbor and he promises them to take them down the path and tell them where it leads one day.

Mr. Creed is a doctor and on his first day-a guy named Pascow is killed. Their maid kills herself, and their cat gets killed. By that time, their neighbor Judd, had already taken them down to the Pet Sematary where pets had been buried for years on end. When Church is killed, Judd takes Mr. Creed and they bury Church there. The next day...Church is alive again!

Where they went is past the Pet Sematary at an Indian Burial ground where if you get buried there-you come back. Pascow had tried to warn Mr. Creed-but he didn't listen.

When their young son dies--Mr. Creed takes him there to be buried--but when the cat came back-he wasn't the same--and when Gage came back--he wasn't either. Its hard to believe a child that young would be the killer in a movie...it shocked me too, but when he kills Judd-I got over the sadness of when he was killed. Mrs. Creed goes there cause she hears her child-but she gets killed too.

Mr. Creed realizes the next morning that Gage has come back and he will need to be put back to sleep-and he gets a needle full of some lethal stuff and goes over to Judd's house and has to watch his son die again. He gets his wife and buries her up in the old burial grounds and when she comes back--she kills him.

As with all Stephen King books, Pet Sematary,
the novel version is said to be much better
than the movie. I haven't personally read it
myself yet-but with personal experience with
other Stephen King novels and the movies
made about them I'm going to have to go with
the general consensus.
