The new Superboy first appears in Adventures of Superman No. 500 (June 1993) in the aftermath of the Death of Superman story arc. He is at first believed to be a teenage clone of Superman, but he is not. The new Superboy has slightly different powers than either Superman or the former Superboy: his tactile-telekinesis approximates super-strength, flight, and invulnerability. He can disassemble objects with a touch. This new character has neither a secret identity nor a family, but he does have a support system of scientists and friends. Superboy is 5' 7" and weighs 130 lbs. Cadmus Project geneticists closely duplicated enough of Superman's DNA that the boy is susceptible to Kryptonite. It is theorized that Superboy , like Superman, is a solar battery, and he may have other abilities he was intended to develop. Having been "birthed" prematurely, he is genetically held at age 16 and, though he has matured emotionally, conceivably he may never age.
