The story opens in the Jejune Realm, where a vast number of minor deities have been assembled for relocation. One of these is Vext. He has a little trouble sorting out his relocation paperwork, but eventually is assigned a new home - Earth. Vext's task now is to search for an apartment and try to settle in to the life of an Earther, while trying not to break the conditions of his relocation, and while being watched over by the Justice League (who have taken it upon themselves to monitor the activities of recently arrived superhumans, aliens and deities).
Vext also has to contend with the incomprehensible human behaviour of his landlord, Mr Danforth, and his neighbour, Colleen. This will be interesting.

A furniture-shopping expedition with Colleen leads Vext to the DMV for a learner's permit (instant ID, to cover the fact that Vext has none). However, Vext's driving lesson is complicated by the origin and interference of supervillain (maybe) Road Rage.

"GeneTech Research and Development: Delta City Facility. Making a better tomorrow through today's questionable legal practices": Doctors Scratch and Snyff are up to something ...
Meanwhile, Vext's furniture arrives. But what's in those hamburgers, and why is everyone getting sick? And how come, no matter how much he jiggles the handle, Vext can't get his toilet to work right?

While Vext deals with the sudden arrival of his troublesome colleague, Paramour - patron deity of Relationships Gone Hellishly Wrong - Aaron and Louisa traipse through the jungle in search of Rypta Gud'n, the patron deity of Ill-Timed Flatulence. And unfortunately, they find him.

The secret's out! Paramour lets slip to Colleen that Vext is a God! How will she react?! Oh.
Caldwell continues his quest for godhood by entrapping Rypta Gud'n.
And what mischief is the Zone Monitor Surveillance Centre up to ... and why might it mean the death of Colleen McBride?
Also, events are set in motion that would lead to a potentially interesting union between Paramour and Aaron. Iiiif not for the fact that #6 is... |

The final issue. :(
Glorious battle befitting a mighty warrior deity! Fields of divine blood as far as the eye can see! Oceans of godly war! B-but that ... that can't be ... right?
Ahem. Anyhow.
Colleen is being stalked by the Zone Monitors, everyone's having bad dreams, and hot cocoa sounds really nice.
Sob.
