familiars

In my time, I've been blessed with many I would call "kindred spirits", but the closest of these have always been my animal friends. They have brought joy and sadness to my life, and for this I am eternally grateful.

pic of Jade riding a pig

This is my daughter, Jade, riding our rescue-pig, Ruggles. He never quite decided whether he was a pig, a sheep, a dog, a cat, or a human. He adored PepsiŽ, and was not above stealing your bottle from you if it happened to be setting on the ground next to your lawnchair. He passed over during a particularly bad winter, after living a shamlessly spoiled life of four years.

Squeak in a shoebox

This is Squeak, the MagickCat. She loves Tarot cards, and will not allow a reading without her presence. She's been with us since her birth on 9/3/93. A very magikal day, wouldn't you agree?

Contented kitty

Tenacity came to us as a 3-pound waif, starved and covered in fleas. She cleans up pretty well, don't you think? Amazing what a little (actually, a LOT) love can accomplish! Tenacity is fond of herbs, and is a sure-show when I'm mixing up a batch of potpourri, or grinding herbs for a spell.

Black cat

Eowyn is a spooky thing. She is a loner, but does enjoy being around circle-castings. She's been with us about 3 years, and is quite a talker, especially during ritual.

calico Meggie

Meggie is a mellow girl, and really "belongs" to my husband. Another rescue from our local Humane Society, she is the "loviest" of the bunch, and is apt to hug you around your neck when you pick her up. Meggie is not magickally inclined, but her cuteness compensates!
