She raised her head, from 'neath her wing...
and sniffed the wind, tasting the air...
a tang upon her forked tongue, dancing.
Then twirling eyes, drawn by the leaves...
followed their swirling revery aloft...
reflecting bright prisms of light, shining.
A tail uncoiled, brushing the grass...
releasing its earthen smell.
She stretched, languid and fluid...
brilliant colors reflecting in a glow...
ears attuned to the song of winter.
At last, with a fluting call to the sky...
she lept, wings unfurled to the wind...
and soared to fly with the hanging clouds.
The first snowflakes, delicate with lace...
fell upon her upturned snout, melting...
as her carnivore grin widened in delight.
And she danced with the first snowfall...
bowing to the Winter God's frosty breath...
shivering with joy, twirling with happiness.
