In the summer of 1998 I
arrived on Australian soil in a city called Darwin on the north
coast. It was 10.00pm and
still about 25 degrees, a taste of what was to come, weather
wise, I thought.
Next stop was in Cairns for some
beach (in)action, the rainforests of Kurunda and the Great Barrier
Reef. I still rate the GBR as perhaps the greatest experience
of my travels to date. Only the Okavango delta in Botswana
has came close.
From there I hung out in Sydney
for a while, seeing all the sights, visiting the Blue Mountains
and checkiing out the beaches, mainly Manly and Bondi.
From Oz I travelled on to the islands of
Fiji. |
