WASTE
Neo- capitalist people
with their ever selfish wants,
"wallet means more than my name,
My money not more than a lasting memory."
The commercialism of christmas
I hate
Not for vulgar religious reasons
But environmental waste; the crass
And useless products, churned out
In plastic and man-made fibres.
Odious, useless abundance
of gadgets
That will "make your life worthwhile."
How did i ever get by before
Without these toys?
But the packaging is the
worst
Perfume bottles with six layers of wrapping
Plus a polythene bag to help carry it home.
The unnecessary waste
in order to sell
We waste more, buy us, we're the best!
Yet people still do buy
it all,
The products and the dreams
"it's nice to give some gifts", they say
"who cares about some trees?"
People are more important,
and it's
Important to make them happy.
The bigger the gift, the more that "i love you."
No one tries to understand,
They just buy as much as they can.
This product explosion guarantees
The commerciality of man.
