Once we arrived in Zimbabwe,
after crossing the border check from Botswana
we headed straight to Victoria falls, on the Zambezi river. It
was dry season when we were there, which meant it was great for
seeing wildlife as they congegrated at waterholes, but the Falls
were not at their best. Shame really. Whilst based in Victoria
we decided to go white-water rafting on the Zambezi, the biggest
and most spectacular commercially-run rapids in the world. That
was an amazing day, riding the rapids in a raft with eight others.
Next we drove to Bulawayo to
see the city and visit Chipangati wildlife santuary. Then on
to the Motopo hills, where Cecil Rhodes is buried, on the top
of a hill in a national park. Motopo hosts the most amazing rock
formations and ancient rock drawings I have ever had the privilege
to see. |
