M5MRF: Mahakam River Tour, 5 Days (daily from Balikpapan, private Tour)

Day 01: Balikpapan - Loajanan - Tenggarong

Arrival at Sepinggan Airport of Balikpapan, meeting service and direct transfer by minibus to Loajanan.

Then boarding on house boat for commencing the exciting adventures on the Mahakam River. A stopover

will be made at Tenggarong for Cultural Dance of Dayak and Kutai tribes. Meals and overnight on boat. (L,D)

Day 02: Muara Muntai - Tanjung Isuy

Arrival at Muara Muntai, short sightseeing of the wooden village to see the way of life/daily activities of the

inland people, floating market etc. Further cross the Jampang Lake for Tanjung Isuy (by motor canoes on low

water season). On arrival at Tanjung Isuy, welcome ceremony and cultural dance performance by the Dayak

Benuaq tribe. An interesting opportunity to observe the way of life of the Benuaq tribe and their culture.

Meals will be provided, overnight stay at Lamin/Long House. (B,L,D)

Day 03: Tanjung Isuy - Mancong - Muara Muntai

Half day excursion by motor canoes or motor cycle visiting the Dayak village Mancong to observe the Grand

Long House (replica). Further return to Muara Muntai, onward cruise down Mahakam River.

Meals and overnight on boat. (B,L,D)

Day 04: Tenggarong - Loajanan - Samarinda/Balikpapan

Arrival at Tenggarong, visiting the former palace of the Sultane Kutai Kertanegara (Museum). Return down the river to Loajanan by bus/mini bus to Balikpapan or Samarinda. Dinner and accomodation at hotel. (B,L,D)

Day 05: Samarinda/Balikpapan - Sepinggan Airport

After breakfast at the hotel, morning free at your leisure until transfer to Sepinggan Airport for your next

destination. (B)

M6OEF: Orang Utan Expedition, 6 Days (daily except Fridays, Tour with English speaking. Guide)

Day 01: Arrival in Benjarmasin Banjarmasin

At Banjarmasin, Southern Kalimantan, transfer to the hotel. Enroute visit the lamu factory and continue to the

home industry of the tie-dye ikat known as Sasirangan. Afternoon at leisure to explore this city of rivers.

Dinner at hotel and an evening becak (pedicab) ride around the city. (L,D)

Day 02: Banjarmasin - Pangkalan Bun - Tanjung Puting

Fly this morning to Pangkalan Bun in Central Kalimantan. Transfer to Kumai where we embark our Klotok

(local boat) for 2 hours journey up the Nipa-Palm fringed Sekonyer River into Tanjung Puting Reserve.

Check in to the lodge followed by lunch. Later this afternoon we may paddle upriver by canoe to spot birds,

flying foxes, monkeys or Orang Utan. (B,L,D)

Day 03: Tanjung Puting - Camp Leakey

We continue by Klotok approximately another 2 hours upriver to Camp Leakey where for the last 20 years,

Dr. Birute Galdikas conducted her Orang Utan rehabilitation and research project. Your visit to Camp Leakey

will no doubt be a great highlight observing the Orang Utan in this wonderful natural habitat. (B,L,D)

Day 04: Tanjung Puting

Today we have an option to return to Camp Leakey or visit Tanjung Harapan to spend another day with our

Orang Utan friends. A late afternoon nature walk, canoe ride or relax at the lodge. Dinner and overnight

at Rimba Lodge. (B,L,D)

Day 05: Tanjung Puting - Pangkalan Bun - Banjarmasin

Following breakfast check out the lodge and return to Kumai by Klotok. Transfer to the airport in Pangkalan Bun

for your flight back to Banjarmasin. Upon arrival transfer to your hotel. (B,L)

Day 06: Departure

Free at leisure until transfer to airport for your onward flight.
