The Progressive Conservative Party leans towards the left side of the political spectrum and takes action against tobacco users. Premier Ernie Eves enforces strict laws towards tobacco control. Out of all the provinces, Ontario lays the most charges under the Tobacco Control Act. As citizens continue abusing tobacco, the PC's stand towards the left of the political spectrum by doing the best they can to encourage smokers to quit, and for young people to not start. Tobacco taxes are now increased by $5 each carton in hopes that citizens would discontinue smoking. This is why the PC party are left wingers in the tobacco scene.
