I have no idea when Thomas was actually born. He gives inconsistent ages in the censuses.
Thomas' great grandaughter Ola Lee Purswell stated that her grandfather James Alva Lee was of American Indian descent.
"Mollie" may have been Mollie Mitchell
There are several records on LDS that show Thomas Lee married to Jemah or Jeemah Byrd.
However the Marion County marriage record lists her as Seanith Byrd, probably short for Asenith. I'm guessing her name was Jemah Asenith Byrd or Asenith Jemah Byrd. Needs further research.1850 Census, Marion County, MS:

Ovie and Margie lived near the Pace Stancil Funeral Home. Pace Stancil was the funeral home used by most of the Purswell and Lee families. Pauline Locke, Margies sister was married to William Roy Stancil. The Isaacks and Pace families are related as well.
Whenever there was a funeral for one of our family members at Pace Stancil, everyone would meet at Margie and Ovie's house before the funeral. If the funeral was early in the morning, Margie always cooked a big breakfast for everyone and then had lunch ready when the funeral was over. If it was later in the day she would cook lunch and then dinner for everyone. Margie hardly ever attended funerals except mayb to step in for a minute or two. She always cooked for everyone no matter how many people attended the funeral and everyone would meet at her house before and after the funeral.
Margie and Ovie had one son, John who died at the age of 33. They adopted and raised Wanda LaFour, Johnnie Locke's daughter. Johnnie was Margies sister and died when Wanda was about 3 years old.
Margie and Ovie were two of the nicest people I ever met.
