Mr. John Frederick Dorman, well known genealogist, and editor and publisher of The Virginia Genealogist, reported that he was convinced that Gerrard R., son of Dr. Robert, had one wife only, Sarah (___), and it seemed perfectly clear to him that Anne Myhill's Ellyson husband, was a brother to Gerrard R., but he had failed to discover- this mans name. Mr. Dorman states in his report, it is quite obvious after reading the will of Gerrard Ellyson, that Frances Moody was not Gerrard's dau., and her children were also his, in spite of the fact he also had a living wife, who indeed survived him. Frances Moody's children did, however, assume their father's sur-name, in later life.
