George Moody

1900 Census, Rowanty, Dinwiddie County, VA:

Moody, George Head W M Nov 1852 48 M 5 VA VA VA Farmer
Moody, Ella P. Wife W F May 1860 40 M 5 4 2 VA VA VA
Moody, Warren H. Son W M Feb 1896 4 S VA VA VA
Moody, Florence Daughter W F Jun 1894 5 S VA VA VA

I'm not positive that George was a son of William W. And Meecah. He may have been a grandson. Meecah would have had to have been 51 or 52 when he was born. Possible but not too likely, especially in those days.

Ella Lucas Cabaniss

1900 Census, Rowanty, Dinwiddie County, VA:

Moody, George Head W M Nov 1852 48 M 5 VA VA VA Farmer
Moody, Ella P. Wife W F May 1860 40 M 5 4 2 VA VA VA
Moody, Warren H. Son W M Feb 1896 4 S VA VA VA

Moody Florence V Daughter F W 15 S VA VA VA Seatchel Maker Trunk Factory
Moody Warren H. Son M W 14 S VA VA VA Seatchel Maker Trunk Factory

In the 1920 census of Petersburg there is an Ella Woodley age 59 with her son Warren H. age 23. This was probably a spelling error in the census as I feel sure this is George's wife and son.

1930 Census, Petersburg, VA:

Moody, Louise Wife-H F W 20 M 18 VA VA VA None

I have the information that you need. I am a descendant of Simon Steinwender, son of Georg Steinwender and Christine Palffner. Georg's father was Johannes (Hans) Steinwender born about 1540 near Salzburg, Austria. This far back, Johannes used the names of the places that he lived on. Steinwend is the name of a mountain on the estate where Johannes lived last. Before that time, he is known as Johannes (Hans) Pluentawer and also as Johannes (Hans) Horner. These are estates that he had bought and/or lived on during his life. He was married to Anna Gerhofer. Their children were: 1. Margret born about 1587/95 in Werfen, Salzburg, Austria; 2. Apolonia Steinwender born about 1587/95 in Werfen, Salzburg, Austria; 3. Gertraud Steinwender born about 1587/95 in Werfen, Salzburg, Austria; 4. Salome Steinwender born about 1587/95 in Werfen, Salzburg, Austria; 5. Salome Steinwender born about 1587/95 in Werfen, Salzburg, Austria; 6. Barbara Steinwender born about 1587/95 in Werfen, Salzburg, Austria; 7. Georg Steinwender born 1597 in Werfen, Salzburg, Austria. He married Christina Palffner 22 July 1641 in Pfarrwerfen, Salzburg, Austria. Georg Steinwender died 22 May 1667 in Pfarrwerfen, Salzburg, Austria.

Johannes (Hans) (Horner) (Pluentawer) Steinwender was the son of Marthin (Horner) (Steinwender) Pluentawer born about 1510 of Salzburg, Austria. I have not tried to pursue further back in the land records of the Pluentawer estate but that is where to look next.

I sent two different researchers to Salzburg, Austria who abstracted this information for me from Werfen parish records and also records of the Steinwender family that had already been compiled and were availble in Salzburg.

My information from Salzburg, Austria shows that Johannes (Hans) (Horner) (Pluentawer) Steinwender had married to another wife first before his marriage to Anna Gerhofer. Johannes (Hans) (Horner) (Pluentawer) Steinwender and his first wife (name unknown at this time) had the following children: 1. Jakob Steinwender born about 1566 in Werfen, Salzburg, Austria; 2. Martin Steinwender born about 1568 in Werfen, Salzburg, Austria; 3. Magdalena Steinwender born about 1570 in Werfen, Salzburg, Austria; 4. Elspetha Steinwender born about 1572 in Werfen, Salzburg, Austria; and 5. Dorothea Steinwender born about 1574 in Werfen, Salzburg, Austria.
