Preach Not To Me (Jan. 21, 1997)

Religion has no business in the goverment,or in the schools. Also it very rarely has a place in the chat room. Yeah, I know I keep bringing up this chat room thing, but I feel I have too... since it is a major part of my existance. At any rate, I got assulted the other night but a bunch of preachy born agains. Now I'm not knocking anyone's belif system, but rather the fact that many of them feel that the muss convert me, because I am a non-beliver.

Ok kids, back the train up. I am not a non-beliver. In fact I have a very strong system of belifs, and I follow my own cult customs more religiously than most of the Christians who seek to condem me. Most of them just blindly quote scripture at me, and tell me that Jesus loves me, even tho' I am a sinner, and they never listen to a rational argument.

Ok kids, back the train up again. I don't need you to recite me the book of Revalations, in fact, I'm already familiar with it. I feel it is some of the most wonderful propaganda and imagry ever written. In fact, I have probably spent more time studying it than you have. And I apreciate the kind tiding of "Jesus love you, even tho' you are a sinner", but I'm not a sinner in my eyes or to my gods. Oh, and by the way, my gods love you too, even though you are a non-beliver.

So many of them are not willing to see the shoe on the other foot... They are allowed to be condensending to me, but I am not allowed to be condensending to them. They are allowed to throw the stones and judge me (which, last time I checked was against most of your major religons).

And so I am subjected to onslaughts of abuse, which I have good arguments against but since I am never heard, I cannot defend my position. I am helpless, and a minority, I am alone with my belifs, and I don't care. My belifs are strong enough to carry me. Can you say that?

I don't mean to offend anyone with this commentary. I am just a little frustrated with all this... and if anyone should hear it, it should be you.
