Can the citizens of the world come together to improve the quality of life for all? It is no longer a question of "can" or "is it possible". The truth is we have no choice but to change if we'd like to survive for any real length of time. Generally speaking, society is not well; it has been contaminated by a small group of people who have entirely too much power. Despite the fact there are so many of us "out in the field", we really have no voice. Those people who are in a position of power, the ones that make the decisions that affect all of us, don't listen or hear. Maybe they don't want to or maybe they are afraid to know what is being said. Everything is off balance, there is no such thing as equality.
     It is simply ludicrous for an actor like Jim Carey to make $20,000,000 per picture while others work for minimum wage and struggle every day to make ends meet. It is a sin that people die simply because they can't afford medical insurance. It is absurd there are so many people who are ready, willing and able to work yet there are not enough jobs. And it is absolutely insane that much more money is spent on defense weapons than on properly educating all children. The political arena is a joke. So much time is wasted on petty issues, there is so much infighting that virtually nothing of importance is accomplished or resolved.
     I don't have the answers. I only know that making changes at the top of the power structure will do nothing. The changes have to begin at the beginning, where the people are. We often hear people say, I'm only one person and I can't change anything." That kind of thinking is flawed. Perhaps one person alone cannot make much of a difference, but one person joining another and another, etc. CAN. This is where change should begin. This is where hope still exists.
     I will continue to think about the things you have said and, perhaps, I will have some thoughts of my own to offer.
