Images of Oberfranken, Part I

I have had a lot of time to bike around the area of Gefrees this weekend and I thought I'd share some shots of what our area, Oberfranken, or upper Frankonia, looks and feels like. Here, looking back on the village of Witzleshofen after a hard climb uphill. Our area is very rural and out of the way. Many people own horses or other kinds of animals. Peaceful pastoral scenes like this abound here.

Here, looking down on the city of Gefrees, picturesquely nestled in the Upper Frankonian mountains. In the evening after biking I got to go on the "Rodelbahn," a 1 kilometer "bobsled" type ride at a local ski area.
