Images of Oberfranken, Part II

On my bike trip today of about 20 kilometers I couldn't resist taking a picture of an old farm house. I wonder if Germans realize how beautiful their houses and countryside are? The Upper Frankonian landscape is dotted with cozy villages surrounded by forested mountains and interrupted now and again by fields of wheat and corn.

Tina and Rainer Keller and their little daughter, Hana, were on the road with me today. Here they are in the resort village of Bad Berneck. People from the city in Germany come here to "get away from it all," and bring some peace back to their lives. The "Ochsenkopf," or Ox's head, (the mountain with the antenna on it) is the second highest mountain in the region. Many people hike to the top of it, as some of our American students already have.
