... And Above Oberstdorf

Wednesday, August 5, 1998

Some of the more adventurous students took a hike with the American chaperones to the top of the Söllereck tram station. That meant climbing over 1,200 feet in elevation and hiking 8 kilometers! The strenuous hike rewarded the students with spectacular alpine views...
... and a delicious meal at the alpine restaurant, "Schönblick," (beautiful view) at the top. Heather ordered a dish called "Rösti," somewhat like hash browns covered with vegetables and meat. German food never tasted so good!
We didn't hike the way down; we took the tramway and enjoyed grandious vistas of the Alps. At the bottom we realized how tired we'd become!
