Is Following The Sunnah Justified?
by Yousef Al Shamsi

17:46. We place shields around their minds, to prevent them from understanding it, and deafness in their ears. And when you preach your Lord, using the Quran alone, they run away in aversion.

The Matter of Hadith & Sunna & its implication in Islam is a very contreversial issue that needs to be cleared up.The importence of the issue is clear. So instead of posting monologues about the Hadith & Sunna I decided to answer some of the Traditionalist's "justification" of following Hadith & their lies & accusation against those who do not follow their "religious sources"
The claim will be in Red & the answers in black(with the Quranic verses in blue)

(1)Justification in Following The Sunna

The first question may appear strange and somewhat surprising to
committed, practising Muslims. How can something which is so
obviously one of the bases of Islaam become a matter for discussion
and debate?

Everything must be put under the light of the Quran & everything else that contradicts the Quran we must reject.

Proof of the importance of the Sunnah

(1) The Qur’aan speaks of the importance of the Sunnah, for
example:

(a) Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “He who obeys the
Messenger has indeed obeyed Allaah . . .” [al-Nisaa’ 4:80] Allaah
described obedience to the Prophet (peace be upon him) as being
a part of obedience to Him. Then He made a connection between
obedience to Him and obedience to the Prophet (peace be upon
him): “O you who believe! Obey Allaah and obey the Messenger . . .”
[al-Nisaa’ 4:59]

One must try to understand what God means by "obeying the messanger is obeying Allah" instead of claiming the gross shirk that Muhammad is equal to God.
The Quran says "obey the messanger" not "obey Muhammad" because without a messanger there can be no message.Muhammad when delivering a message(being a messanger) did NOT bring something other than the Quran.
The Message of the Messanger was just to deliver(the Quran)

"O Messenger! Deliver what has been revealed to you from your Sustainer; and if you do it not, then you have not delivered His message, and Allah will protect you from the people; surely Allah will not guide the unbelieving people."(5:67)

"And obey Allah and obey the messenger and be cautious; but if you turn back, then know
that only a clear deliverance of the message is (incumbent) on Our messenger." (5:92)

To say that Muhammad's word is equal to God is ( as said before) shirk

"He(God)does not make any one His associate in His ‘HUKM’." (18:26)

(b) Allaah warns us not to go against the Prophet (peace be upon
him), and states that whoever disobeys him will be doomed to eternal
Hell. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “. . . And let those
who oppose the Messenger’s commandment beware, lest some fitnah
(trial, affliction, etc.) befall them or a painful torment be inflicted on
them.” [al-Nur 24:63]

(c) Allaah has made obedience to His Prophet a religious duty;
resisting or opposing it is a sign of hypocrisy: “”But no, by your Lord,
they can have no Faith, until they make you [Muhammad] judge in all
disputes between them, and find in themselves no resistance against
your decisions, and accept (them) with full submission.” [al-Nisaa’ 4:65]

(d) Allaah commands His slaves to respond to Him and His
Messenger: “O you who believe! Answer Allaah (by obeying Him)
and (His) Messenger when he calls you to that which will give you life
. . .” [al-Anfaal 8:24]

(e) Allaah also commands His slaves to refer all disputes to him: “. . .
(And) if you differ in anything amongst yourselves, refer it to Allaah
and His Messenger . . .” [al-Nisaa’ 4:59]

As said before the messanger does not mean someone other than God.Of course Muhammad was a judge since he was the first man to establish the Islamic state he had to judge between people.
But with what did he use to judge?

"Surely We have revealed the Book to you with the truth that you may judge between people
by means of that which Allah has shown you; and be not an advocate on behalf of the
treacherous." (4:105)
